My kid loved all three prequels Well, that makes sense since the prequels certainly were targeted at children.
Maybe people don't like the prequels because they are grownups now Just because a movie sucks does not mean the reason I think it sucks is because I am an adult and the movie is for kids. The Incredibles, Cars, Wall-E were movies that adults and kids enjoy equally. TFM and the other two prequels were simply poor movies.
PPL saw the prequels because of two words that were in the movie title:"Star" and "Wars". Anything containing those two words will make tons of cash. Remove those two words and TFM would have grossed 10% of what it did, as most movies of that quality typically do. Lucas could do a "Star Wars-Happy Days" crossover and it would wind up being one of the top grossing movies of the year.
I didn't RTFA, but it makes sense if they don't change their diets well then no shit Sherlock, they're not going to lose weight. For instance, it takes minutes to consume 1000 calories, whether it's a burger, chips, poutine, ice cream, or whatever, but to burn that off you'd have to engage in moderate exercise for over an hour. You have to change what you eat.
Net neutrality from the start always has been about 'network' neutrality, not application neutrality. NN is about the right for you to access any location without your provider or anyone upstream blocking or hindering your access. (eg. traffic shaping, etc.) Apple hardly has the only smartphone, so if you don't like it then buy something from Palm, HTC, RIM, etc, etc. You can purchase mp3's and movies from anywhere and put them on the iPhone.
Apple deserves some criticism for their zealous control over the iphone and applications, but in this case the writer just wanted to spew more anti-Apple garbage, and shame on kdawson for publishing it.
The whole side-by-side window thing wins a bunch of gratitude from me to Microsoft. An example of how history repeats itself. Alot of the 'post Win3.0 noobs' don't realize that "tiling" could be easily done in windows 3.0(and earlier) in the early 90's, but for whatever reason MS removed an easy way to tile/cascade in Win95. Windows 7 implemented this very nicely via mouse and keyboard. Few people know this, but you can tile in XP using task manager-select two or more application, right click, and tile; a pain in the butt process, but it can be done.
I have to hand it to MS, they did a good job with Win7. I just wish I could bring back the fly-out menu's in the start menu.
One major determinant of job satisfaction is the reason why you work where you do, and if that reflects why people use each company's respective products, it'll go something like this:
People who work at an Apple Store work there because they want to. People who will work at the MS Store will work there because they have to.
Peel a few layers off of most attempts to debunk and discredit chiropractic treatment and you will find that they come from people who have a vested interest in ensuring the trillion dollar a year medical-pharmaceutical-industrial-machine continues on as usual. And the ones who don't have a vested interest ignore the most important evidence-the testimonials of the patients.
Chiropractic treatment doesn't cure everything and if some do claim that then . OTOH, I know from first hand experience that it works wonders for some very painful conditions, and I've taken people who were in so much pain they could barely walk or stand, and after 20 minutes of treatment they are walking normally again. Sure the hell is better than taking muscle relaxants for a week or having surgery done on a disk in your spine that may or may not remedy your temporary condition.
It's not a physician vs chiropractor choice. Each has their place in health care.
How exactly was the OP's comment anecdotal? He went for chiropractic treatment and his pain was cured; that sounds pretty cut-and-dried to me. It's not like he's saying his grandfather lived to be 94 due to weekly visits to his chiropractor.
Yep. Comparisons of simple benchmark metrics between OS's aren't very useful except for entertainment purposes. I've said it before, OSX running on 2GB of RAM feels snappier, has less HD chatter, and switching between apps is smoother than on Windows using 4GB.
Oh I see, you're saying that you support corporations and cartels that use their lobbying power to encourage governments to pass unfair and restrictive legislation such as the DMCA that keeps the power and money in their hands instead of the artists and people.
I dunno about that...the US probably has 300x as many subscribers so the cost per user probably is equivalent.
Cell phone companies use a similar deceptive argument to justify higher prices in Canada....larger area, but 1/10th the population of the US. But what they leave out of course if that only 1/10 of the area of Canada has cell phone service. It's not like they are building hundreds of towers to provide blanket coverage on Baffin Island or all of northern Saskatchewan.
Well, I for one enjoy using Apple products far more and have far less grief with them than other companies products, so that's why I support them. They have great hardware, great software, and great support. Most stories I've read about apps being rejected end up being knee-jerk reactions to one sided storied by some app developer that didn't follow the rules who ends up trowing a temper tantrum on his blog in hopes he will get his way.
But banning GV and giving the reason of 'it duplicates functionality' is obviously a blatant attempt to limit consumer choice and I think it may really end up biting Apple in the ass this time, which might be good.
Perhaps I should have went with Android....

I didn't even know a Tron 2.0 was made until I saw it on the store shelf that year, and it ended up being a very fun game. It's one of those old games that I still like to play occasionally.
Yeesh, another example of ignorance over intelligence. Are you too busy to spend 2 minutes check the settings??
1) In itunes preferences you can tell itunes NOT to copy the mp3 file to the itunes library...the files will remain wherever you leave them. 2) Once again in iTunes, when the ipod is connected under the music tab there is a checkbox that allows you to manually update your ipod. Once you set that then you can drag and drop any mp3 from itunes to your ipod WITHOUT syncing.
Why do people talk about things they no nothing about?
I couldn't have said it better myself. My 2 year old iMac is running as good as the day I got it, even after installing and uninstalling a gazillon apps. In the same time my windows system has undergone three installs as a result from 'windows rot', yet I mainly use it just for games. Although the haters like to tell you otherwise, everything 'just works'
Some people wear blinders and simply look at the price and nothing else and think $600 is a better deal than $700, and $500 is better than $600. To each his own, but it would be nice to read Apple stories without all the haters.
Good Lord girlintraining. Nice try, but now you are simply manipulating statistics. They are talking about the hardware-the laptop and whatever software is thrown in with it. I can do the same thing to the Mac and throw $2000 of Adobe software on it. Does that suddenly make the $1200 laptop hardware suddenly 'Super Premium' or 'Premium Reloaded" or something like that just because now it is $3200? I think most people would say no.
As a disclaimer I don't use an iPod or iTunes so I might be making this up as I go along: You don't have an ipod?? I don't believe you!:P
Do people really do that? I was under the impression that if you have an iPod you really only ever use iTunes. I don't know what the issue is that people have with iTunes, other than their own ignorance. You can export your purchased DRM-infested music to mp3's and 'voila', use your music anywhere. You can make ringtones for your iPhone from any mp3. You can backup your ipod and restore it to any other iPod or an iPhone. You can drag and drop mp3's to your iPod (but not the other way, which sucks, but others block this too) You can backup your library and copy to iTunes on another machine. I just don't see what the issue is. Maybe iTunes still sucks on windows, I dunno since I only use windows for gaming now. I think most people that are complaining about iTunes are the haters that complain about anything Apple, which is a sad lot.
I know a lot of people stuck with those old DRM'ed tracks who are too cheap/lazy/ignorant to update them. If you use iTunes, "Everything Just Works(tm)"
I don't see how something working seamlessly is an issue.
This is certainly true, writing their own sync application would probably cost less than the lawyers they have on retainer preparing for the eventual Apple lawsuit.
I see both companies sides here. I understand Apple's side cuz like any company they don't want to field support calls from unsupported 3-rd pary products-and you know they will get them, but OTOH iTunes is one of the biggest music/media managers out there so I can understand how Palm or others should be able to use it.
I have a question for anyone: Can the Palm Pre sync with windows media player or winamp? If it can, they why not use them? If winamp worked on a mac I'd probably use that.
I wonder how venomously driven the apple-haters would be if another company had issues in 15 out of 175,000,000 devices. Oh I know:NOT-AT-ALL! Irrational Apple haters are so sad, yet I can't help but pity them.
I have no idea who this guy is either. Can someone fill us in?

Especially the "luxury of a choice" bit. I love starting the day with a good laugh.

Isn't every new windows version the 'best version' of windows we've used so far?
Some people use Windows because they prefer it and it works better for them
That's crazy talk!

Why wait until you update windows? Just use windows normally for a day or two and you're bound to encounter a safemode-requiring BSOD.

but would you really want your child to be the lucky winner?
How may kids are 'lucky winners' in cars, on bicycles, or simply falling down stairs? It's a heck of alot more than 15 in 11,000,000.
