Yes, it would be easier to proxy everything, but it reduces your speed to the 56k neighborhood. Most of us aren't paranoid enough to want to take that hit. It's much more effective to proxy only the sites you don't trust.
But I trust Google way more than other sites. If you do not trust Google, how can you trust all of those other sites out there?

Back on topic: I really do not want to drag my cell phone back and forth across a desk. Also, if I am on a trip and end up using my computer for an extended period of time, I want something that is a bit more ergonomic. I doubt that that counts bags that are lost for less than 8-12 hours. I have very often had to wait over an hour after the belt has stopped moving to go try to find my bags in the back room. This is in addition to the times that I have left the airport without them. If the USPS had that horrible of tracking and delivery, no one would ship with them.

Airlines need to stop losing so many bags now. There is no reason their supply chain should have such massive loss. Also I believe that hotels will start providing toothpaste along with shampoo in every room now that we cannot carry it with us.

This is a major change in how we travel, but we all will get used to it with time. I would rather have to have to buy new toothpaste because the airline won't get my bags to me for another day than risk having a loved one killed crossing the pond.

I am a Christian and I believe that actions are very important. Christ focused on people's actions. Why were so many of his followers willing to be tortured and executed for Him is actions don't matter? The Bible is full of people of action and faith. Also, God's law requires logical analysis between right and wrong. I fail to see how my deciding to wait until I am wed to have sex reduces my ability to evaluate a complex boolean expression acording to De Morgan's Laws.

I am a licensed EMT (and a college student). I evaluate everything on a patient and treat what I can in the field. My faith in God does not tell me only to kneel over the patient and pray that he get better. If a patient is bleeding and has a rising blood pressure and slow pulse, I don't attribute it solely to God ("making things up and stopping when it sounds good"), I assume that I must have missed something and reassess my assumptions based on the observed contradictions. I do have faith in the Lord that He will watch over those whom I will not be able to save, but I do not see how that makes me "empty" as you claim. I lead a rich and happy life with the Lord as my guide, and I am not ashamed to admit that.

As a seasoned traveler, I can tell you that the airlines will always find a way to lose your bags. It doesn't matter if they are pushing a cart of luggage 10 feet, they will find a way to lose it. It is (well, was) standard practice to carry everything with you that you need for one day. This included toothpaste, shampoo, clean underwear, and maybe even a mini bottle of Jack.

Hotels often provide tooth paste, but only if you ask the front desk for it. I predict that they will start putting it in every room every night.

I salute the Great State of Michigan for its initiative, but most e-mail providers can do a much better job of stopping spam that has already been sent. Bullying is a huge problem in this country and parents seem too busy to blame anybody outside of the community.
