A lot, if you've got hip joint replacement. And there also comes some PTFE with it...

  2. Re:Mouse upgrade on Logitech Cordless Desktop LX500 and LX700 Showdown · · Score: 1

Recently I've upgraded my (USB, wired) mouse LED - from original ultrabright red to ultrabright toxic green. The mouse has translucent bottom cover and it looks quite unusual. I never considered this mod as 'coo1', but compared to original red, the green color is much less disturbing in night.

But my other mouse (PS/2, wireless) remains red. It's quite comfortable to change mices: wired to wireless when wires sucks and wireless to wired when recharging batts.

Better yet, why don't they just seek proper psychiatric help?

Because they don't realize they have a mental problem. They feel normal and it's the surroundings that causes them to feel bad. It's a sort of irrational behaviour.

Similar mental disorders aren't exceptional, but this is one heavy stuff... But such delusion is nothing compared to delusion of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.

I remember some case of another 'enemy radiation' I once red about: few years after WWII, man was hospitalized claiming that secret Nazi sciencist are broadcasting signals in to his head and he asked for an underground bunker to hide away from it. But he has received only stronger sedatives.

Right, that's what is it all about: convincing of people that they have a reason to buy new version of Office. Because Bill Gates is not computer geek, visioneer nor philanthropist; he's a moneymaker.

I'm very content with computer controlled car engines - it makes huge difference compared to former purely mechanical control:

by optimization of air/fuel mixture the computer saves the fuel, allows to start the in a one or two seconds even in very cold weather, motor power is increased , catalyc converter can be used effectivly etc.

Well, even entire power plants, chemical plants, oil refineries, dams and almost entire industry is controlled by computer and works fine (mostly).

Living with computers is sometimes hard, but it would be quite harder without them!

author takes idioting seriously... Before reading the article I expected he destroyed his hardware with *style*, but he did not. I knew one guy who screwed motherboard directly to metal plate of computer case, without spacers. Motherboard circuits were shorted out and the mobo was gone. Unfortunately I never experienced to burn motherboard or processor.. once I was sure I have fried my old Duron 800 MHz - cpu fan fell off, fan-holding brackets on cpu socket were too weared. Motherboard overheat protection shutted all down and after some time this system went back to life. And I've managed how to *nail* cpu fan to motherboard. There's some leak from condensers, it looks like they're about to explode however system still works (ECS K7VZA rev.1.0 mobo).

I don't get why are such activities called "cyberterorism". It doesn't directly hurt or kill anoyone at all, except machines. "Cybervandalism" sounds less hysterical and is more to the point. Anyway, root of all evil is Microsoft's low-end software (e.g Windows, Office, IE).

Only diskette drive is missing, but who cares. My SuSe linux has bootable cd's so why worry...

I can't wait for the technology to evolve so that I could be able to put entire PC into my old Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ :-D

-guarding the house when NOBODY_AT_HOME is set to 1, making logs
-energy saving together with comfort - I don't need the central heating to heat when nobody's home, and start heating/cooling in advance, so that when I come, temperature will be fine
-watching for windows/doors not closed locked properly, just like in car
    -sensing fire and water/gas leaks
-to have my music collection stored on very large capacity media, easily accessable
    -99.9999999999% reliability (or more :))
-e.g. automated medical analysis of urine
-to kiss me nicely even if I come home late :)
Also, another displays to gaze on is really the last thing I wish :) gentle voice + voice recognition is preffered, houseputer console shall exist but mostly for maintenance and setup...

And how about "South Park-Bigger,Longer,Uncut", is there going to be some extra version without Saddam Hussein? :)
