Been there! I worked as the bookkeeper for AT&T. Funny how back then, what I really wanted to do is work the fry machine at MacDonalds. Now all grown up I won't go to McDonalds at all.
"People only sue those with deep pockets."
Where the hell have you been? That's just not true. Take a look at what the RIAA has been doing these past few years...
"Symantec alleges that "Microsoft has deliberately and surreptitiously misappropriated Symantec's valuable data-storage technologies, misled and thereby convinced the United States government to issue patents to Microsoft based on technologies invented by Symantec, attempted unsuccessfully to persuade Symantec to forgive Microsoft' s misdeeds under the guise of expanding a business relationship, and ultimately built portions of its next generation operating system on this house of cards."
Does anyone pause and think about the amazing ease with which, say a 12 year old can access this stuff?
yes, I have thought about it. It's very easy to access anything on the internet.
But have YOU thought about how easy it is to monitor your high school kids(or kids at home)??
Put a logging program on the computer, it'll keep track of sites your kids visit. OR holy shit, the browser's HISTORY!
Laws should not be a substitute for doing your job as a parent. Talk with your kids, make sure they know right from wrong.
That's not to say I didn't look at porn when I was 14 or 15, because yes I did.. and I used the internet. But it was on my dad's computer, in the living room, where my parents monitored my access!!
_NOT_ in my bedroom where I could easily talk to child molestors.
/end rant
why don't we just shut down the internet then? If you're trying to put restrictions on sites with forums and places for discussion... good luck with that one you dumbass politicians.
quick, better start hiding the newsgroups before they figure out you can converse with people there, too.
I downloaded Metallica songs years ago. I was one of the few(thousand?) that got sent an email telling me to cease and desist or be sued. Then I switched to another P2P client. So ha, up yours Napster and the RIAA!
This sounds a lot like the game E.V.O. for the SNES.
you guide a little fish through the trecherous waters and eventually evolve into the fish or land creature of your choice..
I'm currently running one of those Dual-BIOS motherboards from GigaByte. Although I was unaware that the second BIOS can revert the first if it received a bad upgrade.
My motherboard manual just states it's there in case the first one fails, there's a second one to take over.
But how often does a BIOS actually fail? Hardly ever.
Operating Systems Affected:
All Microsoft Operatins Systems
no where does this advisory say that OSX is affected, or any other operating system for that matter. This is Windows-Only, as usual.
What if the test was wrong? Maybe he didn't have AIDS when first tested, or maybe the test didn't pick it up this time. And why is the guy afraid to be retested?
I didnt want to do this.. but it seems no one else caught it..
If you RTFA, it's HIV, not AIDS.
And it also didnt say he was afraid, he just "declined to undergo further tests".

Everyone is _not_ bashing blogs, at least directly anyway. We're bashing Splogs, which are spam blogs (used for increasing page ranks of crap websites).
We're also bashing spam comments, which are left in Blogs.
A blog is a site you post on, and many sites fit that definition, including Slashdot, Maddox (who went on to bash blogs recently), and, well, most other sites.
Now if this were true, almost every website on the internet would be a blog.
In general, a Blog is a website set up in a Journalized fashion. Where users can submit information which is posted with date/time information and can also be commented on by other users(registered or not)
See this page here for a definition on blogs.
If they are in fact using open source, and depending on which liscence said software has, how does this affect the commercial distribution of their Software?
Does/Would MS have to provide said source code of the OSS in conjunction with their proprietary software?

IE 6.0.2800.1106 on Windows 2000 is vulnerable.
5. Profit !!

Instead of arguing over who is right and wrong, why don't we figure out a way to get rid of software patents, and all this nonsense will go away!
Last I heard.. patents protected physical objects, not webpages filled with PHP/HTML, etc code..
This is all nonsense.

Have you seen this movie trailer yet?! american dreamz
it's a parody of, you guessed it! American Idol.
Why the hell would anyone want to see a movie about a damned tv show, where people make a complete fool of themselves.
I swear... movies have gone to shit lately.

Spam Karma 2 is great for controlling comment spam in Blogs. Although it works only in Wordpress.
It's obvious that these screens can scratch. It's exposed to everything that's in your pocket. exactly.
