People in the mid-1990s spoke of "overnight obsolescence", that Perl 6 would replace everything in a few weeks, and that you had better learn a new programming language every month. Over 10 years later, perl 6 is still in beta mode.
So what they're saying is that they suck, so they are shutting down a large number of departments, and re-branding themselves as a bargain college for undergrads, so they can get drunk and run around naked at Mardi Gras.
What if most people like the policies of a repressive government because they voted for it? What if blogs give them an outlet to express their bigotry and hatred, which isn't allowed under a repressive system?
People have been doing research on the Amish for a very long time, their diseases are well characterized. The Amish play a major role in the methamphetamine trade of North America, having had shootouts with Mexican Federales and FBI agents before.
Japanese are into virtual-character "mania" games, you know. Expect to see games like this in the US tech fringe soon.
