As part of his re-patriation agreement, he should require cameras to be rolling throughout the entire trial with a live uncensored feed available to any organization that wants it (News organizations, EFF, ACLU, etc). If the government shuts down the cameras for any reason, then the agreement is null and void and the USA guarantees his return to Russia.
I wonder if the cameras could detect Snowden being whispered to that unless he plead guilty, his parents would have an unfortunate traffic accident in 6 months.
From past experience, we can be pretty sure that nothing could be so damning as to make the American people stand up and genuinely hold the criminals accountable. So seriously, what do they care?
Thanks for the info. I'm sure you've done your market research, but just FYI, the iPhone-only requirement is a seriously limiting factor for my team. I don't know how representative we are, but you might consider broadening the platform support asap.
The "because piracy" claim is just a facade, Mega fully encrypts everything and the US doesn't like that.
"the US" includes me. And think encryption is fabulous. You probably should have said "the US law-enforcement / law-writing / Disney-Sony industrial complex" rather than "the US".
Interesting. Do you plan to allow tiling on a single display? For example, suppose I and three coworkers are each using your system on his own real whiteboard. Do you plan to make it so a computer monitor can show those four whiteboard images on some screen at the same time?
Also, different question: do you expect to support Linux hosts that have webcams plugged in?
I mean, holy crap, what facilities do you need to teach CS? A climate-controlled room with whiteboards, markers, chairs, some electrical outlets, and wifi. Bonus points for a projector.
Most CS happens in your own head, on your laptop, or by talking with other people. You don't need to be on the Starship Enterprise.
I beg to differ. I moved from sysadmin to security because this is where the growth is, and doubled my salary. I get headhunters and poachers several times a week trying to lure me away with wheelbarrows full of money. Companies are finally starting to realize they need to take security seriously.
Out of curiosity, what kind of money are you seeing people make for what you do?
Apple does this. Look at HealthKit for example, all data is stored locally, Apple doesn't mine it. They allow you to control who has what access to specific parts of the data.
Microsoft's UI designers will be first up against the wall...
Except they'll have designed the guns, and so you'll have no idea how to shoot them. You'll probably have to end up strangling them with some newfangled "ribbon".
I'd be completely happy with keeping the Windows 7 UI, and just having each Windows release upgrade the guts underneath. And I bet so would 95% of corporations.
I don't understand why Microsoft feels to compelled to tinker with the UI at this point. (Yes I've heard some reasons, I just don't see why they're compelling to Microsoft.)
I'm sure this will be contentious on/., but it sounds like you're short on time, so I'm not going to beat around the bush.
It's said that 2000 years ago, Jesus died, and three days later rose from the dead. If this is true, you have access to eternal life for yourself, and you may be able to prompt your daughter down that road as well. Quite literally, you would be able to enjoy each other forever.
I encourage you to check this out for yourself. Every argument and counter-argument has already been studied to death, but the trick in your situation is to get to the key issues ASAP so you can make an informed judgment. A good pastor can help, as he's seen this all before. Personally I recommend reading / listening to Tim Keller. His writings and sermons probably address a lot of questions you might have: http://www.redeemer.com/r/qc_a...
I'm very sorry for your suffering. I wish you and your daughter the best.
I've seen a joke, maybe on a t-shirt, along the lines of "Every day a vegan skips meat, I'll eat three extra burgers." It's interesting because it exposes the question of whether the vegan is really trying to minimize animal deaths, or just seeks personal sanctity.
I wonder if a similar thing could be made with a Koran-burning machine. The machine is configured so that every time the internet has a new message from Islamicists, the machine automatically dips a Koran in pig blood, burns it, posts the video on YouTube, and sends a Tweet giving credit to the Islamicists who triggered that action.
Actually, they need to be criminally charged with hacking. And copyright violations, for creating unauthorized derivative works of whatever web pages they messed with. And breaking wiretap laws.
Maybe I can get a Lenovo laptop at deep discount and put Mint/KDE on it.
But can you trust their BIOS firmware? I guess the NSA already taught us that all computers can be assumed compromised, so maybe Lenovo isn't lowering the bar any. So maybe it doesn't matter either way.
Buying their services as consultants, or as civilian employees of DoD agencies, sure; cut them a check and they'll show right up;
That works for a while. Eventually many of the best software developers working for the Navy installation I was at quit because of the senseless bureaucracy. When you're spending more time fighting your network administrators and purchasing agents than you are actually developing software, only the most committed, desperate, or indifferent developers will stay.
It's a nice thought, but I've been fooled before about Presidential candidates. Pretty much every time.

It might open him up to the legal definition of treason in the eyes of the U.S. government, but not to the real definition of treason.
Guantanamo Bay says differently.
I miss being proud of my country.

That looks pretty neat. Unfortunately that's pretty expensive by my current standards.
Any thoughts on how to let multiple people work on the same (virtual) whiteboard with your product?
I'll need you to state that with a picture.
I saw your video - it looks very interesting. Any idea about pricing and availability?

Not sure why you got modded Funny. I for one think that was right neighborly of you.

Do we really know that for sure?

Yeah, seriously UK farmers, WTF? Get off your arses and plough some hectares!
