Normally I flinch at new choral / orchestral music from the past 100 years or so, because it's struck me as avante gard and distonal compared to Beethoven et al.
But this performance is just beautiful. I love it.
The Post paraphrases their sources, who are reading the Chairman's mind, that Genachowski believes "the current regulatory framework would lead to constant legal challenges to the FCC's authority every time it attempted to pursue a broadband policy."
So if they're right, the federal govt. can basically be badgered into not doing it's job? Awesome.
So a friend got me in on the SC2 beta, and I've got to say, it really wasn't much fun. I loved the original SC, but when BroodWar came out, I felt like i had to coordinate too many units' special abilities during a battle, in a very small amount of wall-clock time. SC2 felt similar but perhaps even worse in that regard. Maybe some of that goes away after you've played for a while, but I'm just not in the mood to put in that time. Maybe it's just a stage-of-life difference, I dunno.
That being said, I *am* looking forward to Diablo 3 still.
Very cool and scary. The tension between possible salvation of man (cheap, clean energy) and his possible destruction (something going badly wrong). Reminds me of how people felt in the 50's regarding their hopes, dreams, and fears of nuclear power.
This is unbelievable fodder for science fiction writers.
I feel strangely about this. It's kind of like getting divorced, and hiring a very effective, but unethical and evil divorce lawyer. You want effective representation, but if you weren't interested in the outcome you'd despise the person who chose to employ such a lawyer.
That's how I'd feel about this, if the US trade representative was working in my interests. But of course, he/she doesn't. They're working for Disney / Microsoft / Viacom / Appple / etc. interests.
So now I feel like somone really is acting really sleazy in my name, even when they don't represent my actual interests. I'm pretty disgusted.
Certainly sufficient for questions to be raised. But given Canonical's generally decent track record with openness, I'm not ready to assume any nefarious, secretive dealings. For example, they did mention the revenue-sharing deal with Yahoo.
All I'm saying is that we shouldn't merely assume that Canonical is hiding something here. But we probably should ask them about it.
Maybe. But only in idiot would believe that categorically speaking, Mexicans and Bolivians are so different from U.S. citizens, that they deserve to be despised.
Anyone who believes that probably is ignoring the vast fraction of U.S. citizens that suck, and/or is ignoring the many good Mexicans and Bolivians. Such as the guy this story is about, for example.

We don't. The problem is, we aren't very relevant to the making of this legislation.
I hate to sound dumb, but isn't what you're describing basically file system buffering that OS's have been doing for many decades now?
When a DA or US Attorney won't pursue justice for you, I believe you can always file a civil-rights-violation lawsuit.
It still costs you money for the lawyer, but at least there's some recourse when the cozy DA/cops relationship gets in the way of justice.
Then this isn't a democracy. No one representing my interests was part of the "negotiations" for the DMCA and PRO-IP laws, or for ACTA.
Why yes, if you completely ignore the performance difference, which is the main selling point for flash drives.
It would be similar if I complained about how my tricked out Honda Odyssey is no cheaper than a new 1980's Chevy van was.

There goes my last 30 calories of exercise a day...
How do I know that MS won't file a software patent related to this work?
It's one of the valid places to move your Mech.

Such a cynical and presumptive point of view, unless you have evidence. What do you have to back up your claim?
The switch to Yahoo was due to a revenue sharing deal. The switch back to Google was (reportedly) to stick users with a more "familiar" default.
So it sounds like Canonical is putting users first, which strikes me as a very good policy in the long-term, if they want to grow the user base.
A little UV exposure is good for most of us, and a lot is bad for most of us. How much UV do these units transmit?
I'll get excited when it doesn't get pissed at me for forgetting Valentine's Day.
Given that Congress and the courts had abandoned us on this issue, complaining to your representative is essentially doing nothing.
Just 3??? This isn't Sunday school you prude.

That doesn't speak highly of your intelligence.
But Mexico is not Bolivia. That was my only point.
I think he was Bolivian maybe.
