    Opensource lends itself to services based products and hardware tie-ins. Look at IBM and Apple. They are good examples.

    Depends you you are answering. If it a corporate entity possibly. If it's a user then likely it is not. Does the average user associate "being opensource" with "being better" or what? Probably not. They don't even know where the Start button has gone.

    Gnome feels slow.
    Gnome panel has a pathetic autohide (which feels slow too).

    Gaim is not good (mainly because of it's GUI). Kopete all the way...

    Gedit is way behind. GTKSourceView has weak syntax highlighting.

    By the way, I have both Gnome and KDE installed and switch between them often.

    There is no point comparing Linux and oranges. What we have learned from history is that Usability is the most important followed by Software/Drivers. All else is irrelevant.

    I would assume that the whole dust blocking out the sun thing would cause cold-blooded murdering dinosaurs to slowly slowww slooo-die! In this environment the warmer blooded cute little plush animals would be better suited. A heat pulse could have fucked them up too, but I wasn't there.

    It's interesting that the weak inherit the earth. Us being at the top of the food-chain isn't very encouraging. So we must kill all the weak things before it is too late!!!
