    My little town (less than 500) just had one heck of a backlash when we went to municipal (read: mandatory, billed with your water) garbage collection. If half of our citizens felt it was their constitutional right to pile garbage on the back lawn, I can only imagine how we'd do with muni internet.

    If you're the biggest customer, you would have the added benefit of being able to task sats not only to cover what you want, but also to *not* cover areas you'd just as soon commercial services not have access to.

    Fascinating to me that media companies like DirecTV and Netflix bought ad space. Netflix, I suppose, must be something of a thorn in the side of moviemakers (no reason to ever BUY a DVD), but DirecTV?

    It's hard to condemn someone and still profit from their popularity.
