I don't find it hard to blame the mom. An accident is a foreseeable consequence of letting a 4 year old ride a bike unattended. 87 year old ladies don't spring out of nowhere.
If Google is an Internet Service Provider then where is the access because I would LOVE to drop AT&T DSL and use something that has better pricing with better bandwidth (AT&T DSL is the only fucking option where I live to all you competition is good assholes out there)
According to the hype, Verizon FIOS is "coming soon" everywhere.:-)
Now I would agree with a statement that Google is one of the largest consumers of internet bandwidth, or they are one of the largest content providers on the internet, but ISP...come on.
Keep in mind that they provide wifi acces for most of the area around the city of Mountain View, CA. But yeah, not that big of an ISP.
Seems to me this is a bunch of people standing up for what they believe in even though it may cost them financially. It would be nice to see a few Apple employees do the same.
Really tough working for a company that sells popular products.
Even with the very best balloon design, the very best tethers and the very best launch protocol, if the wind turns on you unexpectedly, everything can be lost in an instant.
Maybe it's "open" in a way, but with Motorola, HTC, Samsung, etc. locking things down at a different layer, is there any functional difference for the average end user?
I guess you have never tried out those phones side by side.
Yes, because people have proven that having more than one drug store, supermarket, or fast food chain inevitably disorients them and fouls up their lives. Oh, wait.
The required car analogy.... Your Chevy will only let you drive to Walgreens, while your Ford will only let you drive to Rite Aid.
One thing holding it back from the Consumers is the lack of Comsumer ADSL Modem/routers that support it. AFAIK, the Draytek Vigor series is about the only ones that do it. Sigh
Doesn't seem to be holding back the customers on Comcast who are on the early v6 rollout.
Was it as obvious as the "hot chick" named Tanya486 who follows you, is following 56000 other people, and has 2 followers?
Or the 500,000 Facebook "users"?
You actually answer calls from numbers not in your address book?
LibreOffice is already taking the go-oo patches.
LibreOffice is just a rebranding of go-ooo
Alas, the restrictions placed on app store content by Apple are not compatible with the GPL
The GPL isn't compatible with reality.
Even if this looks like it all it'll do is deprive users of useful programs, it's still the good fight.
The good fight is FSF loonies getting free software pulled from distribution?

The old lady should have been on a leash.
Sue her children for negligence.
Nuh-uh: "Time traveler w/ cell phone" is the simplest explanation.
Doctor Who does it all the time.
The answer I was looking for: "Typing in the site's URL"

And yet so many people think that Google *is* the internet these days.
It's NOT the internet?
How did people get to a web site with a browser before Google allowed you to search for it?
Tila Tequila
The world will never be the same.

Perhaps you are confused with the hype with the LibreOffice fork?
Even with the very best balloon design, the very best tethers and the very best launch protocol, if the wind turns on you unexpectedly, everything can be lost in an instant.
Launch from a silo?
Which it won't. There are people touting HTML5 like it's some all conquering replacement. There's a bunch of things you can't do with HTML video...

CDMA is in fairly widespread use throughout much of Asia.
Of course! Charging roaming fees to tourists from the US is very lucrative.
Yes, Web 2.0 is all about ...
Wasn't "Web 2.0" just invented by O'Reilly in order to create another conference and sell another line of books?
Maybe it's "open" in a way, but with Motorola, HTC, Samsung, etc. locking things down at a different layer, is there any functional difference for the average end user?

They are VERY different

Most people who buy a Time Capsule are getting it for the wifi backups anyway.
Anyone stuck one of these into a Time Capsule yet? I assume it won't have any problem utilizing all 3TB
You don't really have to put it IN a Time Capsule. You can just have the drive in a USB enclosure and attach it to the USB port on the Time Capsule.
You can also attach a drive to the Airport Extreme base station and it will be available over the network for Time Machine backups.

Yeah, running or not running Software Update is such a hardship.
Nothing to worry about. Some very brave people have Forked it and created LibreOffice to replace it.
Brave people? It's just Novel rebranding their "Go OOo" fork.
Dell IS a generic PC.
