    just do what my university does, if you detect an infected machine, kill its connection until its resolved. You might have to modify your terms of service first though.

    I dont get what all of the fuss is about, I have had the same email account for 5 years and have never had an issue with spam. What are you people doing that spam is such a big issue for you?

    your right though, only a change in protocol will stop spammers, making laws in the us will just mean that spammers route mail through non us servers.

    thats so true

    as a kid I did tons of sailing, and its really not hard to predict the weather in a coupe of hours. With a little more practice its possible to predict the way winds will shift with pretty good results.

    Then again I dont recomend anyone put all of there trust in there guess for the weather. I have been stuck on the water in a damn near tornado before(a big black cloud formed over my head and started swirling).

    Ever since I started to listen to internet radio I never used a p2p network again, and I havent looked back. Go to www.shoutcast.com. They have all types of music, for free, at decent quality. You can use winamp to play streaming audio for windows, or xmms to play streams on linux. No more dicking around with dcc or kazaa networks. Oh yeah.. unlike normal radio there are no commercials either.

    the example he gave was to show the difference of searches before and after the update for google. he is demonstrating why some vendors are very unhappy. Btw if you read farther you would have noticed they compared many results before and after the update, not just a single word like you make it sound like.

    I wouldn't count on the opensource movent to magically solve a conflict that has thousands and thousands of years of history behind it. Religion makes people irrational, its the nature of religion. This is seen even more clearly in orginized religion. I dont predict the islam/christian/muslim worlds getting along anytime soon.

    right but as a side effect the level of fustration of people who use microsoft office will go way up having to deal with encryption and drm, so alternatives like open office will become all that more appealing
