So who makes printers with cheap consumables? I am going to have to travel back in time to stock up on printers that I can refill in the future. The winner in the printer wars is going to make a lot of money in ink sales - a few years from now.
So when I sue the Nigerians who spam me, will they want my bank account number to deposit the funds for the judgement? I figure that I can sue them for $16 million dollars by now.
All that software sold on the promise that it would decrease costs BY REDUCING LABOR, built by those whose jobs are threatened now - threatened by actions ALSO designed to reduce costs.

So I guess now you can work at a 7-11 and make more money within 2 years than you can with a 4 year degree in computer science? Plus the payback of the student loans. Even if you make more in the long run the payback will take another 5-10 years. I am not sure that we will have any programming work in US by then...go into a trade while you are young and you still can.
Sometimes when I accidentally get fooled by the sender name and subject line, and accidentally open a spam email, the email says I opted in. At least there is a real business that can be sued in this Utah case. I don't think that the listed PO Box in Florida is really the address of the spammer, do you?
If I were a big company and I wanted to not have to pay the little inventors for their ideas I would come up with a scheme:
1) Abuse patent system until software patents stop innovation in the industry.
2) When patent system is revised to no longer protect software, take every little inventor's idea and produce it without compensating the inventor.
So SPAM doesn't cost the ISP's very much in proportion to their revenues.
The real cost of spam is our time. Click delete, click delete, hunt for anti spam software click delete, click, get spamable registration email address, click delete, change over to new ISP that blocks spam better, click delete, click delete, give everyone the new email address, click, click, accidentally delete a valid email, click.
