You know it would be much cheaper for us all to donate to a fund and have all of the lobbyists that work for the record companies snuffed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOrgLj9lOwk
I bet some of those same people who turned into these politicians were here http://www.lubin82.pl/fotografie1.html fighting the communists and dodging ZOMO bullets and tear gas grenades.
Taking down sites will do nothing but give the corrupted politicians more amo. Why not concentrate on digging up dirt con corruption and start making it public? Get some incriminating info on RIAA/MPAA/Politicians.

And guess where the next Silicon Valley's and data centers will be?
>Would you be content if your labors were simply taken with no recompense or permission from you?
If it was making my software the de-facto software and piracy gave me a market penetration I'd write it off as advertising. Just like Photoshop and Windows.

Alleged criminals....

Strange so are you saying movies, music and software would be that much more creative and better quality if there was no piracy? I mean all movies and music albums should reap in millions from every release. If they don't apparently its because the companies can't make good works because piracy is holding them back.
All that money spent on paying of politicians says one thing to me. We don't want to give people access to movies and music. If this wasn't the case the movie studios and music companies would have used that money to develop online distribution websites. How hard would it have been to take all the works you have copyrights to and set up a site where people can buy them and download them.
>You don't want the TPP and you don't want the US forcing their copyright laws onto you. Here's your chance to say that you want neither.. you should holler it from the rooftops until every last corrupt politician knows it.
But when pretty much only Michael Geist will report on this while none of the big newspapers will report it. If they do it'll be on some obscure blog deep inside the news site.
wasted on paying off politicians instead of setting up a distribution channels/websites that makes all music, movies, written works available to customers world wide at digital media price.
Gimme movies at 4$ with out DRM and I'll buy 20 per month instead of downloading them for free where at the end you don't get a penny from me
http://www.pcbsd.org/ will be announced today hopefully. Looking forward to giving it a spin and hopefully might change my mind about Linux Mint and become my main OS. Didn't have hardware luck with it in the early days.
Especially in Canada. Oh just got your $600 over usage Internet bill because your 50mbit connection is only allowed 100bg or less or data transfer and you love watching all those cool show on the Internet.... game over....
people around the world from hacking sites and publishing "illegal content" on those sites, then reporting those sites so they get blocked. 6 months later the US has blocked itself from 75% of the Internet. I'm sure the rest of the world will survive while the US rots its in own closed environment. Just make sure your domain is not a tld controlled but the US.
The industry needs to fork over huge lumps of money at one time while 10000+ citizens can split the cost, some can donate $5 and some $1000 which gives them a better chance overall in the long run.
or call it what it is. Modifying my own property.
with out media companies there is no threat to the internet?

let the old business model die. With all the free market touting these old farts sure like to prop up failing business models.
>You're assuming that they are actually doing something illegal. In this society, immoral, stupid, or dickish does not mean illegal.
If they can dig out dirt on the lobbyist then they can force the politicians to distance themselves from those lobbyists.

I asked him a question. You see that "?" at the end of my sentence?.
>It's also been "industry" standard to know that Megaupload is very nice for piracy uploaders.
From the same industry that says every download is a lost sale?
From the same industry that pirated and sold works they didn't have rights to? http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/4596/135/

So you are of the belief that you lost money from every single pirated copy?
Now lets get those p2pdns technologies to lay waste to copyright laws.

seriously 500mil potential customers? Items drop shipped from Chinese factories at dirt cheap prices?
they want their magic back. Magic is part of their design mark so no one can use it for anything else except for magic shows.

You just described the US governments view of its people.
We should bring him in as a white house and entertainment reporter. Corporate and Gov corruption solved with a few coughs
