    Agreed. It really depens on how many years you will wear that jacket. Example: I bought my jacket (not a north face but a kanuk, anyway...) at 340$CAN and I've been wearing it for 5 years. That's nearly 70$CAN per year.

    So at 500$US for 5 years or more, that seems like a good investment.

    for 5.2? Yes we still do. the boxes are dialup servers. they never die, well.. the update is not needed so why should change something that goes as well?

    People with stand up for it. It's not only about Linus Torvalds getting the trademark. It's also about protecting _everyone_. After all, who, in the long run, can win against a whole community?

    Surely not a man trying to play trademark laws and getting the credit for the name Linux.

    Well.. running NT on a Alpha. Is just plain stupid. 32-bit system ; 64-bit arch. It's like running DOS on a PIII. A wasted computed.

    It's now a good thing that competition in the x86-cpu area has revived. Unlike video cards and such, the end-user who buys thier computer will have a choice for their cpu. Computer vendors were stuck with selling intel because the end-users only knew/wanted intel. MAybe it will be like the 486 old days. Who knows?
