I'm taking the same course. I'm probably spending 10-15 hours a week, and that's a challenge as like many I have a full time job, family, house and other responsibilities. The material is challenging and the class moves at a quick pace. Boneh is an excellent teacher which really does make a difference.
and we should all go picket their funeral. I'm so tired of these guys, who obviously are ignoring some of the most admirable lessons from the New Testament.
Apparently a contractor was doing work driving pilings into the river bed near one of the bridges, and in the process they damaged the roof of one of the tunnels where it went under the river. Chicago's system had been largely abandoned, but it still connected into subbasements of buildings all over downtown. It shut down downtown for days.

I get DSl via AT&T who subcontracts email to Yahoo...who plasters my browser page with ads. I use the web email to check my email at work, and don't want my browser page plastered with ads that don't reflect the professionalism my workplace environment expects. Since I'm paying for this content anyway, Yahoo can bite me if they think I'm going to view their ads, too.
Since unlocking involves some soldering and such, at least according to the account I've heard, clearly it violates the warranty. And don't forget, the iPhone has a soldered in battery; you're supposed to send the phone in after a year to take care of the battery. So, if it breaks or the battery dies, your unlocked iPhone is a very expensive paper-weight.
Yes. Electricity usage is higher at predictable times of the day, i.e. when people are working and using a lot of electricity for air conditioning. This forces the power company to use less efficient power plants, or buy electricity from other regions to meet the peak demand.
It's all to easy to dismiss what Dvorak says, but the cell phone market is different. A year ago the Razr was the shiznit, this year there are rumblings that Motorola's CEO will get dropped. And Zander wouldn't be the first one to lose his job because Motorola has had a hard time following the Razr up.
I agree. Maybe they've had 160,000 registrations at their web site over the years, but how many of them are still developing for the Palm? How many of them were duplicate registrations, when someone forgot their old reg info?
I haven't developed anything for the Palm in at least four years, and have no future plans to do so. Frankly, it's a small market for anything other than the general apps that come with the OS, and users want shareware/cheapware.
A safer version:
Get some dry ice, break it up thoroughly. Add a couple of cups of hot water to the bottom of a plastic two liter soda bottle. Fold the bottle over so you can add the dry ice without it mixing with the water. Add dry ice, replace cap, lob at least 10-20 ft away from anyone. *Boom*

I used to bike around the grounds of FNAL; I'd love to see them open up the tunnels and see a little of the other side!

The NPS does not allow the placing of physical caches in National Parks. The only caches allowed are Virtual/Earthcaches.
I think they need to be inspecting the top of the WTC, ala the famous photo-shopped pic with the plane in the background.

Well, if I believe my television, you should still be able to waterboard him!

Hmmm. Spam, spam, spam, SPAMMITY-SPAM!
Was a big step forward for this!
We geeks are just too dumb to get it.

Time to sue the Open Voting Foundation out of existence! Nasty, bad reverse-engineers!

This whole article is a violation of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. Bruce Schneir, and the terrorist Finn Harry Hursti should both be locked up!
I think the link to UDI is to the Uniform Driver Interface folks. I think this UDI is different.
This sort of megalomania is why a large part of the software industry will always have a problem with a) Richard Stallman, b) GPLs, c) Open Software
