The ebay mountain dew bottle is really funny, but probably a hoax. It is simple enough to get a cap off a bottle without breaking the "tamper resistant" seal.
Well I was hoping this update was going to make browsing networks better, try again. I am at home right now and I have a WinXP machine with a couple of shares. The finder saw the WinXP machine, which it never used to do. Double clicking on the WinXP machine's icon brought up a message "The alias Rainier could not be opened, because the original item could not be found" (I name my computers after Cascade volcanos). Clicking okay on the dialog would not close the dialog. I relaunched the finder and tried connecting via the "Connect to server" menu item. It took 2 minutes to connect, made the finder unresponsive, and made the dock unresponsive. A quick alt-cmd-esc, relauch the finder and everything is okay.
It might be wise to wait a few days....
I'm downloading the update right now. I hope this helps with browsing smb. It was so easy to find smb shares in Jaguar, but in Panther I have to know the server address and share name. Also I woud like to start using FileVault...I'm going to wait a little longer before I enable FileVault.
Star TV and the Murdoch machine were liberal and anticommunist until Rupert got the opportunity to get into buisness with the Chinese Central Government. Rupert Murdoch is not a conservative, he just cares about his bottom line, which usually improves with conservative governance.
I keep thinking I need to jump into that grand project, the pentium II that needs to be a router/firewall/or server or wireless AP. I just need to install Linux on my desktop and use it. Nothing I do is unsupported (web, email, irc, java development, maple) and my hardware is old (AMD 800 w/ ATI Radeon 7500 AIW).
Once I get over the idea that Linux is going to transform how I use computers, and realize I can just do what I always do with Linux instead of M$ I will do it. In fact I think I will download some ISO's this afternoon. Thanks...
If you would RTFA you would know that this is a streaming broadcast and not an over the air broadcast or public access cable program. In so far as it being an advertisment, I suppose it is. It is an advertisement for a bunch of geeks setting up a free regional wireless computer network.
An advertisement for what? A non-profit community based wireless network attempting to expand its coverage from a metropolitan base to a regional base. I think you are off base.

I looks like binary only centrino support is on its way with an open source solution coming later, according to news.com

Here is one group's attempt to stack virtual machines. It contains a screenshot of the humorous VirtualPC error message. Warning, its a pdf.

Media outlets are only as liberal as the conservative corporations that own them.
