Let me first state: I am not a Star Wars specialist.
I think the reason for the quick destruction of the empire is that so many soldiers and high-ranking officers were on the Death Star, that the empire basically "lost its head".

BTW, do you think after WW2 there were any Nazis left in Germany? They just quickly hid their uniform and stated they had always been against the empire...

With some of these VoIP agreements, you let them not only track your calls, but monitor them.

I would still think they would only monitor calls if the caller is a criminal or suspicious (or terrorist, as they're called now -- but maybe being a democrat is nowadays enough to qualify as potential terrorist).

I never gotta the bottom of whether it's ./ or FF fault. Anyone know?

How dare you. It's never Mozilla's, FF's or slashdot's fault. Stick to the usual suspects, please:
    • Microsoft
    • George Lucas
    • patent attorneys
    • SCO
So if you run Windows, it must be Microsoft's fault, if you run Linux, it's SCO's fault (the code I borrowed from them is incredibly buggy).
If you use BSD, it's because BSD is dying.
If you use Max OS X, either George Lucas' ruined it or some patent attorney is to blame (I'm not sure on the last one).

My current Mac used to be a Powermac G4 running at 400Mhz, a 20 gig HD and a really slow ATI video card.

Now it's a Dual-1Ghz (Powerlogix), 1.5 GB RAM, 3 Harddisks and a ATI Radeon 8500 (I also need video-out for watching films o the TV). Considering I bought the system more than four years ago, it still runs new games pretty well.
