Gotta say personally me and a friend did this to a unit and it was unsuccessful. We did, however, swap out the connector with a new one and that worked wonders until someone stepped on the unit.
In the newest version of Word, they finally attempted to fix the AutoCorrect 'feature'. Now whenever something is AutoCorrected, a little indicator is put on the text, and you can right click and tell it to roll back the change (1-time or never change it again) without having to dig into the menus.
It took them a few times, but they're starting to get the hang of balancing features with usability.
If I recall correctly in New Jersey, you have to be 16 to smoke, but can't buy cigarettes unless you are 18. So if you magically find a pack in the streets (wink wink) in that 2 year period, you're golden.
I recall in other comments that the maneuvering thruster fuel is hydrazine and something else. Nasty and very volatile.

The satellites are made to look down upon Earth. The Hubble is made to look out upon far away galaxies. AFAIK there is no device in use whose sole purpose is to take pictures of objects in orbit. What they probably did was try to refocus one of the satellites in 1998 and the lens package was not designed to take pictures of objects that close.
I'd have to say I like the game, but oddly as you mention I can't really give a reason why it's any good. The inclusion of Co-operative multiplayer is nice. But, most of the action is much of the same.. I haven't really touched the story mode since me and my roomate beat it, but we've played a couple times on the internet using XBConnect.
It was never my intention to defend Halo. So the fact that I haven't done it means nothing. If you've played it and didn't like it, I'm satisfied. I didn't make the game and don't need to defend it to someone who already has a strong opinion. Your original post was truly unclear about whether or not you had played the game, as was your first reply.
I disagree with your points on DS9. I felt it had the richest characters and races, and the closest of all ST series (exluding Enterprise.. havent seen) to what you describe as the Star Wars culture. By minimizing the 1-time races they were able to focus on the history of the Cardassians and Bajorans for several seasons before starting the whole Dominion storyline which engulfed the later part of the show (not a bad thing, imo). Corruption? Politics? Hate? Check out the 3 part episode that ended the 1st season and started the 2nd. I know one of the episodes is called "The Circle" but cannot recall the other two off the top of my head.
I believe I had heard that there is absolutely no chance of a DS9 movie. Sadly. I believe it to be the best of all of the ST series (excluding Enterprise I have not seen enough to comment). Maybe it had something to do with the fact that there was actually tension within the main characters, instead of tension always between a main character and a villian/chick of the week. We also got to see the people genuinely hang out with each other (most notably O'Brien and Bashir). I don't know what it was but those scenes were always just better than the poker scenes in TNG. They were just played and written more genuine I imagine.
Fisrt point: by modem technology is dead I mean a few things. One, there is no further progress to be made in the technology. Two, from a personal experience standpoint, I cannot use a modem to play games. It just does not work reliably enough to ensure an enjoyable gaming experince.
Is chess a modern game? Hence my clarification. We all know chess is a trivially simple game to play over the littlest of data links. Even that lame IP over Carrier Pidgeon could do it without the players getting anxious.
We're talking about games like Madden which feature 11 men per side that have to be constantly updated in order for the game to function properly. That takes a large amount of bandwidth when you compare it to hearts, no?
Furthermore the fact that the system requirements say something is a joke. Go get the latest game and run it on the "requirements" then look next to the requirements and find the "recommended hardware" instead. If you've actually done it and it works, say so. But don't make guesses and claims based on marketing information.
Who hasn't used Word? Well if you want to be accepted around here the answer would be nobody of course!
In any case, telling me to go somewhere else because I have a dissenting viewpoint is truly grand. I'll see you in Soviet Russia (insert lame joke). This is a website based on discussion.
Furthermore my point is that the 4K/20K comparision is more a bash on Word than a comparison. I don't think it helps anyone when it says well an empty Word file is 17K. I don't deal with empty Word files and in general never look at the size of a Word file. I'd venture a guess that most Word users have the same behavior.
Why, on a website which is specifically against using Word, would a comparison to Word be made if not to belittle Word and Microsoft? Why not find a 17K HTML file and use that for comparison? I think that would have been a much better comparison to begin with due to the low overhead of HTML (i.e. in an "empty" Word file you don't see all the overhead information that the file may store, making it appear to be wasted space). Or better yet compare compiled code to compiled code. Not code to some empty document format which may or may not be inefficent.
Want to note that I never truly advocated that the game is the best game ever, etc etc. Merely harping on the fact that the parent had never played the game and was judging it.
Wait. You just said again that you watched someone play. Say it straight: have you or have you not played the game?
I did not take your comments out of context. I think i clearly comprehended that you have never played Halo.
Furthermore, I'm not saying Halo is a great game. My point is you're judging something you've never played, which just happens to be a pet peeve of mine.
Why? Does it matter? Are you really going to miss the 15K that it might be wasting? There's no reason the Microsoft coders should be worried about optimizing EMPTY FILES. Word isn't made to make empty files! It's made to work on files with text and data in them.
Is this really a submission about writing 2600 games, or is it just more Microsoft flamebait?
I'm sure there are tons of file formats that even when empty take up what would appear to be "large" amounts of space. Never mind that Word is written for today's computers, for which 17K is hardly even noticed, hence there is little need to optimize empty files.
By the way, the newest Word has a built in versioning system. I'd like to know what options on this system were set when this 17K file was created. Also did the user choose to save any other information (Macros, etc.) with the file?
Like I said, this submission isn't really about programming for the Atari. If it was, the obligatory troll wouldn't have been there, and the article would never have been posted.
... and the only reason you think it's so awful is because of how popular it was.
Anyway, by your theory, LOTR would have won every award last year, no?
Actually, as the other posters say, you are wasting the plastic. Bind the key to something useful, eh?
well the die hard cooking fans are all still playing Star Ocean 2..
Sorry, but could you expand on the leap of illogic that brought you to this conclusion?

Just one question... Where do I have to move to?
If I recall correctly in New Jersey, you have to be 16 to smoke, but can't buy cigarettes unless you are 18. So if you magically find a pack in the streets (wink wink) in that 2 year period, you're golden.
The discussion of the issue is located over in the first submission.
Sorry, but in keeping with Slashdot tradition I must berate you for pasting a link that makes you login. And in Spanish no less!

Hate to be a nerd but if I recall correctly Lal was the android Data made which developed emotions and he had to put down?
The thing that pissed me off the most is that we see Data, in the future, perfectly fine, in "...All Good Things".

What is different about NFS2 on PS2?

The difference between MS and Atari? They aren't even comparable. AT least use the MS of Atari's time to compare to if you're going to do it.
WHY?
