    Drive around with an Obama, Mccain, Biden, Palin latex mask on. Then if you get one of those "photo" tickets just tell them it wasn't you and don't know who it was. Tell them you leave your car in your driveway unlocked with the keys in it for your convienience - it makes it easier on you when you want to go somewhere. Tell them anyone could have "borrowed" your car. Put the burden of proof back on THEM.

    Carry TWO hard drives. One with all your valuable data, the other with a stock install of Ubuntu on it - nothing else - except maybe some gross photo's downloaded from alt.sex.binaries.gerbils.ducttape - just to screw with them. Then before entering/leaving the country hide the "good" Hard Drive in your checked bag and put the Ubuntu one in the laptop. Then just swap them in and out as needed.

    The mega corporation that bought us up has a "sanctioned" list as well - that SUCKS! We mostly use free and open source tools. But this company has a policy of "No Open Source on the Desktop.". But we basically gave them the middle finger and via our VP told them to go screw themselves. Now we can install basically whatever we want/need. :^)

    When will the American car companies get their collective heads out of their colelctive @$$e$??? The reason foriegn cars are kicking their @$$ is because they havne't gotten the clue what WE need! Or they haven't figured out how to do it. My next vehicle sure as heck isn't going to be one built out of Detroit - why - becuase they are too stupid to get my business. They aren't giving comsumers what they want/need. They are still stuck in the midframe that everyone wants a friggen gas guzzeling SUV and truck. Look at the plants that are being shut down and the people bieng layed off. They were/are the gas guzzler plants. Have they bothered to retrofit ANY of the plants to start building Electric or Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles? Not that I have seen. They all deserve to go the way of Lheman Bros.! Maybe some inteligent American will start producing electric and/or hydrogen fuel cell vehciles en mass for the public and give the big old middle finger to the oil companies - and give the American people what the want/need.

    What about electric cars? Well lets see you have to charge the battteries somehow right? How do you think they will get powered up. Yup by plants that generate electricity. Let see these are run by either Coal and ones that are Neuclear powered. First Coal ones aren't all that better for the environment than gas. Nuclear - well how do you dispose of all the spent uraniun/nuclear waste? No one watns it burried in their back yard.

    Hello dumshits! How about Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles???? Why is it that so far I ahve only seen Honda and BMW with Hydrogen Fuel cell vehicles advertised. From what I have read Honda plans on having theirs ready for mass avaialblity in 2009.

    Heck there is already a mass produced Hydrogen Fuel Cell RC car with it's own Hydrogen producing "fuel station".

    Now are they trying to say they can't mass produce Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and setup "filling" stations for them in less than 7-10 years (the time they say it would take if they started off shore drilling to get one drop of gas to the pumps) (Both Republicans and Democrats have admitted this)??? Here we have a hydrogen fuel cell RC car with it's own "filling station". Then on the news this weekend they said how all these oil refineries were badly damaged by Ike and how gas was going to hit $5/gallon (it's already up there in Texas). Then Opec saying they are going to cut production again... You think people revolted at $4/gallon - wait until it's enmass at $5/gallon. Yet oil fell below $96/barrel....

    This old $ucker and his George Bush like running make are NOT WORTHY of anyones vote! Neither in Obama/and what's his old @$$ face.

    PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - don't vote for either of these DORKS! Vote for ANY thrid party - show these pud pullers we are sick and tired of ther BS in washington and sick of the waste of human sperm cdandidates they keep feeding us!

    AMEN! This is a REAL test. Give the interviewee some code you have that has problems. Let them at it for a short time. If you come back and they havne't figured out even what it's doing, you don't want them. If they can figure it out, clean it up, and get it working - that is a good programmer.

    AMEN! When I interview I don't ask questions you could know the answer from a book on. I ask questions only someone who has DONE it would know. I worked on a contract job one time in an environment with 2 AS/400's, lots of Novell servers, lots of HP Unix boxen. They brought in some gal who had a CNE. She got on the job and was asking ME "How do you use pconsole?" "How do you use sconsole?". WHAT!? Your the CNE you should be able to tell ME how to do it!

    My thought has ALWAYS been certifications don't mean jack $h!t to me same with degrees. It only means you know how to read books, memorize and take tests. I want to know: What do you know, and how long have you been doing it and demonstrate to me you know how to do it.

    I once interviewed at a company where it involved a 5 hour on site interview process that included 2 written tests (RPG and Java/C/C++). The Java/C/C++ test they gave me confused me as I was interviewing for an RPG position. But I took the test anyway because I had done some Java and C/C++ on my own(just didn't have it on my Resume - didn't feel I knew it well enough to say "yeah I know it well." - I was being HONEST). Anyway I ended up making corrections to a couple of the Java questions that I knew none of the answers you could choose from were correct. I ended up getting hired as a RPG/Java programmer instead of just a RPG programmer (more pay), because I knew the two questions were wrong. They had put them in there like that on purpose to see if you -really- knew Java. Normally I don't like taking written tests, I'm not very good at them. If you give me the same test verbally I can pass them no problem. That is something many companies don't understand either. Some people just don't do written tests very well, so they may not pass their written test and the company may pass on someone who would have been an excellent assett.

    I've been in to many IT shops where the management were to inept to even tie their shows much less run an IT organization. I think this "rogue admin" was probably the only inteligent one in the group. He was probably smart to lock out all the inept morons that could have screwed up his network, and was probably smart NOT to want to give them the password(s) so they couldn't screw it up after he was gone.

    Because screens with colour used informatively, rather than making eye candy screens with flashy gradients and transparency, make the actual information easier to discern. This isn't some commercial app that has to sell to Mac enthusiasts, nor is it Photoshop.

    Actually these are multi color graphs Ross Perot made while on Acid for this years presidential election.

    Anderson Consulting has always been a JOKE in the consluting world. The joke about them was "When you hire Anderson consulting, they back school bus up to your back door." And that is pretty true. I worked with them years ago on a consulting gig. They were hired to impliment data replication at a HUGE client (Cyprus Amax). They brought in all these fresh out of college folks, conned the client into purchasing a 1/2 million dollar 12 cpu HPUX box to do it with. They had some young girl running around with a clipboard, a pad of paper and a pen asing us what we needed the system to do. We tried to tell her WE weren't the ones who were going to be using it (we were working on a seperat project). That she should be talking to the BUSINESS people - the ones who need it. 6 months later they went to the client and said "we can't quite figure out how to get data replication working. But this would make a nice batch processing box."

    Yeah, when I hear the name Anderson - I immidately think - FAILURE! Didn't they not long ago get into hot trouble for a huge BOTCHED SAP implimentation?

    And to add to that, when you sign up for an "unlimited" plan tell them before they get one red cent you want the whole thing in WRITING. This way when they throtle your bandwith you can sue them for breach of contract! If they want to play the "contract" game you can too. With Charter I got the contract for "unlimited" in writing then I submitted a letter to them stating that if they "throttle" my bandwith they will be in breach of contract. So I put them on notice from day one. NO bandwith throtleing yet and I've had my 10meg pipe for a little over a year now.

    You just have to look for ways to give the big ole' middle finger to corrupt greedy corporations!

    DB2 is already installed on your AS/400 box by default - it's part of the OS.
      This would show me the customer is a DULT and doesn't know anything about the system they bought/use.

    (I'm a former AS/400 operator/Administrator/RPG developer - Turned Java programmer).

    U.S. Companies seem to PREFER bringing in foriengers over hiring U.S. Citiezens. They can pay them nothing or next to nothing. Is any company in Europe willing to hire U.S. Citizens? Germany won't, I know I tried that path.... How about you folks from Canada - are companies up their truly willing to hire U.S. Citizens? If so what is the process we have to go through? I'm ready to be an Ex-patriot! F@ck the U.S.!!!

    If everyone would quite buying the RIAA music, quite pirating it even. Quit buying the damn DVD's, quite going to see the movies, quit pirating movies. They would lose money to BUY politicians and would have to go out of business at some point. I hear you saying "boycotts just don't work." Why don't they? Because people have to have the latest RIAA pushed band's CD, they have to go see the lateset greatest MPAA pushed movie. "Hey when is American Idol on?". I haven't bought an RIAA labeld CD in 10 years I gave the RIAA my middle finger a long time ago. Instead of watching a movie I just read a book or play a video game. F@ck the MPAA too! America your deserving all the crap that is comming down on you - because your too damn lazy to do a damn thng about it. But, some of us still give a crap!

    Me I wrote my senators and told them they should not vote for this crap. If they do it will show me that they have been bought off by the RIAA/MPAA and that I'll be informing as many of their "constiuants" as I can about their pro-corporate, anti-citizen votes.

    I'm not standing up for pedophiles by any means but we need to put a stop to ISP's and Corporations teling us what we can and can not access.

    If we took the ISP's and Corporations OUT OF THE LOOP we could give a nice big middle finger to them all! How do we do this you might ask, well here is my idea.

    We look at the "Internet 2" project - the one that is saying "no corporation support allowed" We as "geeks" and "nerds" band together and help build it up to were it is like a "sub internet". To where you would just use your ISP as a passthrough onto this "internet". It would store all the things the ISP's and Corps say we shouldn't be allowed to access. More importantly we come up with a way to encrypt our traffic so the ISP's can't exactly tell what is coming and going so it will be damn hard for them to filter. Then we can have TRUE FREE access to information. Not the Communist China version the ISP's and corporations are implimenting. Either that or we go back to the days of the membership only BBS type stuff...

    It's simple, if he will vote FOR something that he KNOWS is wrong. That makes me question what he would do once he got in the whitehouse. I've been an Obama supporter for a VERY long time, but right now I'm questioning his motives right now. He is either for change or he is not. Voting for a Bush policy is NOT CHANGE - PERIOD. If I wanted more of Bush I'd be for McBush er.. McSame err.. McCain. If he keeps up this kind of crap I'll vot Libertarian.

    Folks don't "just not vote" Vote for a party OTHER THAN the Democrats or Republicans. If suddenly all these smaller parties see spikes in voter turnout and the two big ones see drops in them I think that will be a message in itself. Let the hard core democrats vote for their master(s) and let the hardcore Republicans vote for their master(s). If everyone else that is not hard core voted for someone else I think that would show a HUGE revolt.
