I think we (Euro/American) tend to overlook a lot of Eastern (China, Japan, India....) Open Source software projects because we just don't hear about them.
If you would frequent some Open Source site from one of those countries you would probably notice a lot more projects. Of cource, that's hard if one can't understand the language. So, I think there are a lot of OSS communities in those countries too, they are just not very visible in our communities.

They found a crasher and pulled it.
The announcement and Windows version is back up again.
The new Linux beta I have no idea about...

* bugfix: fixed crash on Windows 98/ME
27.07.2004 Skype for Windows 1.0.0.9
* change: new EULA
* change: minor text changes
* change: changed progressbar colors

Yes, no mention of 1.0 on the homepage!?
The linuxversion is also the old one.
I kid you not, this will be slashdotted quick!
What's the record in slashdotting?
Poor Steve...
Good then that Apple doesn't sell you 128kbps MP3's.
They sell you 128kbps AAC's, which is a whole different story.
Sorry, the link got a bit messed up.

If you
1) go to a webpage (and only that!)
2) and suddenly an application launches,
without you doing anything, you know you don't want it to open!
I assume Cancel is the default button?
..a second for every spam mail he sent?
The AMD64 arch has twice as much registers as plain IA32. Should help speed pretty much, no?
Won't be simpler of cource!
I think the code already is out. At least it's already done.
/ gnome-desktop/2.6/
The REAL Gnome-2.6-is-done date was 22:nd and the Put-out-pressrelease date is tomorrow, 24:th. They are probably waiting for the mirrors to sync.
Yeah, look here, the mirrors have synced.

So, hopefully Gnome 2.6 was out before the "compromise"...
No, that's not enough. For the songs to become visible on the iPod you have to edit the iPod's database, add ID3 tags etc.

If it's a Spec it's avaliable here.
And if it is a bunch of bitmaps they are already on my computer.. you know, as a part of OSX?
The real thing!
Clint Eastwood and a big, sturdy, russian plane!

The US has nuclear weapons and has been able to place objects in orbit for a long time.

my school does.
The cource is called Human-Computer Interaction and it's on the CS Department at Lund University (Sweden).

I plan on taking it sometime soon, if they don't cancel the whole cource.
I've seen them using Interface Builder on their labs and such. Unfortunately we only have 14 Macs, so the excercises may get a little crowded..
