    The filechooser depends heavily on gnome-vfs, at runtime, no?

    Still, I don't think you have to install gnome-vfs for gtk+ to compile/work. Some nice programming in there for sure...

    That's because you are using NVidias binary driver, right?
    Then you have the RENDER extension hardware accellerated, and RENDER is used to compose and draw the transparent bitmaps.
    Some X.org OSS drivers also have accellerated render, not as good as nvidias though.

    (ATI's driver sucks :-)

    I just want to say this again, that's not Russia. It's China!
    And the image only shows nitrogen dioxide, which is a _man made_ pollution, unlike CO2, which could be produced by forest fires!

    When you say ALSA, you really mean OpenAL, right?

    That's what Epic uses for UT200*, and it seems to be a really mature and good library these days.

    Will be included in a standard install of OSX 10.4.

    Is 200kbps broadband nowdays? (Has 200kbps ever been broadband?)

    It might be better than modem, but.. 4 times faster, I don't know. It's, halfband, ASDL, but it's not broadband!
    I'd go as low as 512kbps!

    "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)"
    that's probably not how it works at all.

    Or are you saying that IE is inlcuded in the Mozilla stats too? :-)

    Last night our champion hackers got a new update infrastructure landed into Firefox 0.9 branch builds and set up the new server and the new server-side code, moving away from the slow Java based stuff to some much faster not-Java based stuff.     Right. No kidding this benchmarks sucks. :-)
    Seriously, it makes a great difference what version of GCC they use.

    I saw a great boost in benchmarks when I switched from gcc 3.3 to 3.4 on my AMD64.

    -O3 -pipe -march=k8 -fomit-frame-pointer -ftracer
    That's the way to go!
