...for christ's sake. Yes, the people at the top are responsible. It's their affiliation that matters. That's the way it works. The people in charge now absolutely refuse to be responsible for anything- there's no accountability. Two of the top people in this mess couldn't even be bothered to read a 60 page report made available to the world online detailing the abuses. THE top person- W- probably hasn't read it yet. I guess pictures saved him the trouble.
The men who made the decision to invade that country and put those troops in this position to begin with were Republicans. However you feel about the war, that is fact.
Don't know if anyone remembers these, but there is a precedent for MS releasing hardware and pulling it.
They had a 900 mhz. "phone system" that had 2 cordless phones and a computer hub. Sold it for a year, pulled it.
They released a speaker system that they pulled within a year or so.
And, they have apparently stopped manufacturing SIDEWINDER gaming peripherals (sp?).
Might be more. That's off the top of my head.
AD&D covered everything, all the way. D&D handheld you into it- the first three levels, everything was indoors. The next set- the blue box Expert set- was I think for 4 through 8 and introduced wilderness adventures. Then the Companion Set- green box- dealt with owning castles and waging big battles and shit like that, went up to (again, I think) 12. Master Set was next, and finally, Immortal Rules, where you got to become a God. I think that's all of them. Honestly, I just wrote this post to see if I could remember them all. Christ, I'm a nerd.
So who supported him while he did all this? Man, I'm so tired of people acting like we get indignant at the thought of human suffering and feel obligated to intervene. What a load of crap. We supported Hussein when he fought Iran- once he decided to do his own thing, he made the shit list. Where was this righteous indignation during Rwanda, Cambodia, East Timor, the Sudan, the Congo, Liberia? Oh, right. They ain't got no oil. Sucks to be resource poor.
...maybe first things first. How about water and electricity first, and then maybe a stable government, and an end to guerilla attacks across the country... THEN planning their software platform.
...they have problems. Every comment I read about someone not being able to do something with Linux or getting frustrated by some aspect of it is immediatly followed by cries of "bullshit!" There's part of the problem, in my opinion. When someone says "my camera didn't work in linux", saying- "well, your camera sucks" or "MY camera works fine and I have Linux" doesn't help matters any.
Yeah, I've wanted to give up windows for awhile. I installed Redhat 9 on my laptop, dual booting it with windows, but of course one crucial component- the display- wouldn't configure. I looked all over the web, and the solutions I found were ridiculously complicated. I figured I could install Linux and learn it step by step- not get bombarded with suggestions to recompile a kernel or write code. Maybe Linux is ready for home users- but only preinstalled. After two weeks of research and trial and error, I had to say screw it- just like I did three years ago when I tried to switch to SuSe. Oh well.
is a great free media player, much better than the horrible winamp3. It's got good support, tons of downloadable plugins and skins, and runs quicker than musicmatch. And, of course, its free. It doesn't burn CD's, but whatev. I've looked at every media player out there, and this is my favorite.
For antivirus, AVS like everyone says. RegScrub XP is a nice reg cleaner thats free and easy to use. Firebird for browser and mail. Steel Panthers for the best wargame ever- FREE!
...the government needs to know what I buy, what medicine I'm on, who I talk to, who I'm fucking... but not whether or not I own weapons in my home? How does that work, exactly?
it says "console exclusive". That's been speculated since it was announced. In fact, Carmack himself has stated that the XBOX hardware was the only console capable of running DOOM III acceptably. The PS2 certainly can't run it. Seen what their "Spinter Cell" looks like?
High Noon in outer space. With Sean Connery, natch. Great movie, nobody's seen it. And, while I'm here: A Life Less Ordinary (yes, I'm the guy that liked it) and Long Kiss Goodnight. All to often, movies with three words in the title go unappreciated.
Considering more and more people in this country seem to be getting their "fair and balanced" news from Fox, this nation should be completely ignorant of everything that isn't waving an American flag within five years.. I enjoy Salon, I just subscribed to it. It's going to be sad when the only way to get information about your own country is to ready another country's newspapers.
Agreed- though, of course, Shakespeare said it best: "The Devil can cite scripture for his purpose"

ACLU membership- 20 dollars a year. Knowing that at least some people are trying to stop this insanity from going any further- well, you know.

Hold on, let me hang this green curtain up and point a webcam at it... there we go. Now dance, monkey!
Who's being sarcastic? What do you consider a troll? Looked through your profile. All those comments and not one moderated above a 2? Hmm.

I'm glad I bought a GBA at Christmas. You know, a week before they announced SP for the first time?

So... will that chip void Xbox Live like the earlier ones?
