Wow - you don't like professional sports. Congrats! Why do you feel the need to rip it so? I enjoy watching both professional football and baseball. There's a bit more strategy involved than you think but I don't care to change your mind, really. It's of no interest to me what you do with your free time.
In passing, do you enjoy playing sports? As a child, did you ever play any organized sport with other children? Just curious - feel no need to reply if all you're going to do is tell me how 'stupid' or 'banal' sporting events are.
I don't buy your backpedal that a group of people who have the above business model cannot be put into the category of "small entrepreneur." You called me a troll in your first reply to me so this is the only post I will make in response to you.
"He should have called "shenanigans" and admitted that the patent circus is just a game designed to make life hard for the small entrepreneur."
Except if you look at recent history, the large corporations are not the ones abusing the patent system - it's that small entrepreneur you mention who patents something completely obvious and then makes the big corporations pay licensing fees to him. Yeah, Amazon has a patent on 1-Click shopping, a patent that shouldn't have been awared, but have they made anyone pay a license fee? No, they haven't. Face it, the same crowd of unwashed FSF geeks who are crying over patent abuse is producing a few people who are taking advantage of the U.S. Patents Office inability to award patents based on merit.
Do a little reading and get your facts straight. Just because there's a corporation involved, doesn't mean the corporation is wrong. And just because someone is working without the benefit of a giant high rise, does not mean that person is a noble freedom fighter.
No I am not moron. I am DISCOURAGING the posting of links. Just because I am posting comments about them does not mean I am encouraging them. You're an idiot if you think that follows from my statement. Are you a woman?
If I say, don't post these links. That is not encouraging people to post the links. If you defend the person who posts the links, that is encouraging someone to post the links. Honestly, you must be really stupid.
Every single article about the N-Gage has the same fucking links to Penny Arcade. Enough already - everyone has seen the fucking comic. Just stop posting already asshole.
Who is a sucker? I was pointing out that the bundle was a lot better deal but apparently you didn't read my actual comment. Also, the fact that I didn't include shipping and handling has already been noted.
Maybe you should get an education and then come back to Slashdot. You make yourself look rather stupid.
Where in my post did I say everyone who read the article would have this bit influence their vote? I believe my point was a bit more sweeping than that and was criticizing the majority (I used the word "MAINSTREAM" - see above for reference) for using this type of article and others (food, etc - again, see above for reference) to determine how they vote.
I made no assumption that everyone would be swayed by running Apache - I was stating that some people would and that is a problem I believe. Honestly, I would love to discuss my post with you but please don't put words in my mouth that I never came close to saying.
I believe I said that I read it and found it interesting in my original post. (See above)
My point was that a problem is that some people do take this seriously and base their vote on unimportant things like that. Beyond just this simple article, candidates are judged like it's a beauty contest rather than a political campaign. Do you not see how when you said "somebody has to say it", I already had?
You try calling up Sony for support on the Linux kit. I have and I know what happens. You obviously don't.
I still maintain you believed that the Linux kit was implemented in a similar method as Linux on the XBox.
Computer hobbyist != hacker but, disregarding that mistake, a hardware hack is quite different from a product designed for "hackers." When you say something is a hack, it means that it is thrown together in a way that it was not designed to handle. For instance, it is a hack to modify a toaster so that it can serve as a home heater. It is not a hack when the hardware is designed to support a hard drive and a keyboard and a mouse. Before the PS2 was released, the Linux kit was given to developers. This is hardly a hack.
Again, just because a product is designed for someone who is a "hacker" does not mean that that product is a "hack." For instance, a hacker may need a soldering iron. Does that mean a soldering iron is a hack? No, it is not.
Your backpedaling is sad. And based on the fact that you have negative karma, I know you're a troll.
The fact that this is reported is proof that democracy is very flawed in some of the basic assumptions. Not to single out geeks (and I admit, I looked at the article with some interest I suppose) but people just don't know how to select who to vote for. The mainstream picks their candidate based on likability and how attractive they are and whether they wear the right colored suit or seem smug. You can have a great set of policies that are very sound but wear the wrong tie and you'll lose a few million people. Candidates need to start standing on policy, not the junk that gets reported (OS, favorite food, hair color, etc.)
Hmm, well maybe I'll check it out then. Although, the Final Fantasy storylines (from what I know of them) have always seemed a little silly to me. They seem very geared towards the Japanese audience, which isn't exactly what I look for in a game.
I believe Viewtiful Joe has been selling very well. (You can find some sales figures through Google.) So don't be too sad - just get some friends with better taste in games. I suppose they're too busy playing the Matrix game to take note of Viewtiful Joe's release.
I believe the point was that if you have a deadly weapon that you're going to put in a single individual's hands, it is not a bad idea to put a check in there that allows society to have a check over that single individual's control of that weapon. We wouldn't give the police the right to use deadly force and not put any safety checks in for stopping them if they are abusing it, would we? So why do we hand over the keys of a car to a person, without the ability to stop them from abusing it?
How interested in video games are you? Nintendo Power is a beautiful piece of propaganda but it does announce upcoming games and give you news about Nintendo's product line. Do you care about getting this news at all? I would imagine that as someone who reads Slashdot, you probably get most of the information already. Although, I got a subscription to GMR and it's excellent bathroom material. If you've got no interest in getting the latest news, go with Mario Party - and then force it upon your friends. Otherwise, go with Nintendo Power.
I might subscribe to NP just for the nostalgia factor. I still remember that first cover announcing the glory of Mario Bros. 2.
You're the guy who after a friend shows you the cool product they just bought, you call them up a week later and let them know you saw it priced for significantly less than they paid or found a better model that was at or below what they paid. You're not helping anyone by doing that and usually just annoying people!
In passing, do you enjoy playing sports? As a child, did you ever play any organized sport with other children? Just curious - feel no need to reply if all you're going to do is tell me how 'stupid' or 'banal' sporting events are.

Nuke warm cards huh? How many fans do you need for one of those?
The Internet needs an editor or two hanging around.
Do a little reading and get your facts straight. Just because there's a corporation involved, doesn't mean the corporation is wrong. And just because someone is working without the benefit of a giant high rise, does not mean that person is a noble freedom fighter.
Thanks for playing but you lose.

You are encouraging the posting of mentioned links and therefore are just as guilty. My statements stand.
Every single article about the N-Gage has the same fucking links to Penny Arcade. Enough already - everyone has seen the fucking comic. Just stop posting already asshole.

A primary is an "actual election."
Oh no! You insulted me! :*-(
Zelda 1 - $6
Zelda 2 - $10
N64 - $13
Majora's Mask - $13
Ocarina of Time - $5
Total cost: $77
And you don't even get a Gamecube!
Yes, this bundle is truly a steal.
Zelda Bundle is Confirmed for November 17th- woo hoo! I will be getting mine then.

When do you drop a few bucks in my coffers for support buddy?
I still maintain you believed that the Linux kit was implemented in a similar method as Linux on the XBox.

You can't just switch to Linux and build a cluster for nothing tough guy! The hardware still does cost money, in case you weren't aware of that...

Only during breakfast hours.
