but that takes away from the good ol' days of snuggling by the laptop on a cold winter's night, surfing the internet wishing the laptop was a woman and the heat source was a real fire......*sigh*......im lonely...
DAOC, EverQuest, heck even all the MUDs that existed were barrels of never-ending fun.
but that is their downfall.....never ending fun. not that i ever complained, bur my gpa and girlfriend sure did....oh well, at least i still have something of a gpa..

well, try it for yourself. i ahve, and i really liked it. not for the power users, but its installs well, runs mostly off the install, and is really fast....
Despite the huge negative customer feedback, Intuit are still profiting from the product.
how is this a big shock? yes there were many up in arms and angry, but how many average users even know what the dangers and such are in writing to the boot sector? people will still buy because they dont really understand what the dangers might be (yes, i am aware that they have reported no dangers, but im still skeptical).
seems to me that it should be based on what kind of users you are expecting. Windows is not very changeable partly because the standard windows user will learn to use the interface given to him/her. with the more advanced user, with very specific needs and tastes, will want to be able to control everything. all that to say, its kinda hard to even imagine that such a bridge exists unless you want to cater to both parties. however, my hat is off to KDE, cause they do a pretty good job with both sides, though i imagine their standard user is a bit more advanced than many....
hrm, i know i know, -1 troll...

Unreal Security Hole

There seems to be a big security hole in the Unreal engine that has been around for about 5 years
first off, that is damn lucky that this didnt get out till now. secondly, 5 years and they are finally working on a patch now sure sounds like another company we all know and love...*cough* M$ *cough*..
im sure that would make business meetings much more productive...i know that i certinaly would no longer listen to any presentations thrown at me. also, given the nature of my co-workers, the concept of 'high score' would make productivity drop to almsot zero...he he
why, back in my day, we didnt have all these new fangled computer bus scheduler thingies. we had to work out the algorithm in our heads in the snow uphill going both ways....kids these days......
i say we all look to the future by looking to the past. we could all go back to being horticulturalists, or even further to hunting and gathering. that sounds like a great idea.
but, in all seriousness.... does the idea of people gettign together to talk aboutt he future of money make anyone else nervous? i seem to remeber something like that being in the book of Reveltaions of S.t John at the end of the New Testament...
i find it funny *pun intended* that it took british comedy, of which i am a big fan, to remove tivo, when seemingly no amount of litigation and pointless court hearings can do it anywhere else.
1) i hope the multiplayer net code is stable
2) oh hell......there goes my gpa this semester..

most enjoyable when they involved social interactions rather than just flashy single-player action and graphics."
hey now, lets not get too radical....flashy anything is always wonderful....esp metal objects and single player games with crazy graphics.

The U.S. is planning to sit around and watch.

She claims that the companies have devised a scheme to sell software licenses without allowing purchasers to review the license prior to sale
but there is a flaw in that statement. that implies that people actually read the license to begin with...
