Sure, robot cars sound cool, like KITT, and even KARR was cool in his own way. But technology like this could elimate all those taxi driver jobs. Yeah, and you know what that means. All those guys will start taking over our programming jobs here too.
I didn't pay $100 for my last copy of Red Hat, Knoppix, or Mandrake. If MS starts giving their softs away then I really wouldn't think anyone would be justified in berating them for bad software. I mean, the coffee at work sucks, but I'm not paying for it. But I'd have good reason to be pissed if I got that kind of coffee at Starbucks. Point is, when someone sells you something, they should absolutely take responsibility for it. If someone gives you something for free, you should smile and shut up.
I really don't see what you mean about going after a company that bought assets from his former company. Just because someone bought assets from a company doesn't mean they are responsible for their debts does it? Unless the company was bought out in which case I guess there might be some claim. I think he'd be better off claiming the new company is really the old company just with a new name as a way to dodge creditors.
Did the representatives of the company admit to perjury regarding the crimes? So far I think it's just the prosecution that has admitted any error.
And while it might be right, I think he'd be nuts to go after a government who just locked him away for 16 months for "tattling" on his old company.
It was my understanding that the federal government will not be responsible for wrongful imprisonment. And since these guys lied to get him locked away for ratting out his old company, I wouldn't want to see what they'd do to somebody who was putting them in the news for this kind of thing and taking them to court for $$.
I kind of figured this guy was just being sarcastic. I hope so anyway. He can't even go after the company, probably for several reasons, but primarily because they are gone. Good luck trying to prove that the new company is really the old company just pulling that old corporate sham.
I think it's a lot like anything else. Things are always more fun when they are simpler, less regulated, and more elite (even if that elite is only cool to you and 2 other people in your hick town).
I mean, I still think it would be cool to be back there when people were just inventing the cars, roads were minimal, and you just kind of drove where you wanted how you wanted. But, although I'd like to see it, I certainly wouldn't want to give up my V6, my air conditioning, cd player, shocks, safety glass windshield, and (occasionally) decent roads.
So, things are always cooler when they are more simple and easier to learn. They are always cooler when it's something that just your small circle of friends are in on in your town, but still makes you part of a larger community. I can't get over how when I was a kid I got picked on for being into computers and today even the bullies want the fastest machine with IM'ing software and running hacks and so on. I miss the days when I was very uncool by the standards of the day, but still kind of cutting edge in my hick town, even if only me and a few friends knew it.
Can you really expect someone who is even non-biased to be okay with someone saying to neuter your computer by turning off port 80 to make it more secure? It sounds like that old joke about the only way to have a secure computer is to never plug it in.
1)Going down to the elephant pit and setting fire to the elephants, watching them trample and set fire to dozens of civilians. 2)Setting a cat on fire and watching it run down the street setting people on fire along the way. 3)Pissing on people until they puke. 4)Then chopping their heads off with a shovel. 5)Running through the maps pissing fire on people with near impunity. 6)Electrocuting people into convulsions then kicking them to death as they lay there crying. 7)Rocket launchering Gary Coleman. 8)And best of all, throwing scissors at the sick bastards that came up with this game.
The best thing about a video game is when it let's you do what you would never do in real life. Never be able to or just never would do it because it is morally wrong. I would want someone stoned to death if the did in real life what I did in the first 2 minutes of playing Postal 2. But, IT'S A GAME! I didn't really do anything wrong. I didn't harm any person, I didn't do drugs, I didn't make anyone feel bad about themselves. I blew off some stress. It was funny because it was completely unrealistic. No matter how much someone pisses me off, no matter how much I want to, I'd never shoot someone in real life for being a bitch at the checkout. And I COULD NOT ever piss fire on a bunch of pedestrians just to watch them die, no matter how much I wanted to. Games like this keep people sane.
I don't think you're crazy for suspecting it. I believed the USA when they told me it was not terrorists. But then the protested to strongly, and the denied it too much. And then these freak power outages were hitting other countries. I don't believe for a moment that the US would admit to a terrorist strike crippling 3 or 4 states unless someone was already there with proof. Although, I would imagine there would have been some news organization that would have published the letters that I'm certain terrorists would have sent them if it was their work. Still makes you wonder though.
I can be proud in the US that if I start a business that the government will not demand I continue to employ someone that I do not wish to. As a citizen of the USA I am proud that I am not legally required to employ anyone at a business I create and can terminate them at any time since it's my own money and my own business.
On the other hand, corporations get special protections and as such I believe they should be held to higher standards and requirements.
I'm sure no one would give a rat's ass of RIAA wanted to make a free client to connect to Kazaa. They only care because those sue happy congress bribing fuckwits at RIAA go around suing people like crazy, ruining lives, so that they can keep their government granted pseudo monopoly going. And so turn around is definitely fair play. I don't believe for a second that Kazaa is really altruistically looking out for the best interests of American citizens. It is gaining an incredible market and tons of publicity and good will from citizens because they are not only one of the few to fight the RIAA, but they go one better to go on the attack.
I heard they got some flak when they started using purple to color code passengers. Fallwell insisted the system turned perfectly straight people into homosexuals and could result in dangerous cross dressing on airlines.
It will solve the problem if the company has to close shop because not only the single mother but enough of the others employeed there cannot make any valid sales calls.
I cant believe these stupid reasons people keep giving. I mean, these callers themselves are not absolutely evil, but that's their job. Of course they are going to piss people off. They're calling people at their homes and harrassing them into buying things they don't need and using deceptive means to do so. They're tying up resources that honest citizens have paid for (their phones). So no, I don't feel the least bit of pity if the "lowly" workers at these companies all go broke at their job. I want them to. I want every single telemarketing employee to be dead broke so that no one will ever take that job ever again. And I'm not meanspirited for that. They are playing a game of them against me, they are doing it for cash, and I want them to lose.
I'd be happy to not only mug a mugger, but to beat him senseless and leave him bleeding in a ditch to die. Is this just a joking troll, or could anyone be so stupid as to 1) Take the side of violent terrorizing criminals (muggers) 2)Take the side of harrassing mean spirited companies that harrass good citizens in their homes 3)believe that legal methods to hinder the efforts of an organization devoted to harrassing people in their homes for cash and to betraying the public of the USA is comparable to an illegal act of violence? (Not that anyone except a mugger would care if you went around kicking muggers in the head and taking their stolen money so that they couldnt buy guns and drugs with it).
hmmm, another AC. Troll or imbecile...We may never know for sure.
How the hell did I get flamebait when a response got a positive rating?
Sounds cool, but it's not a real robot car until they give it Turbo Boost.
Sure, robot cars sound cool, like KITT, and even KARR was cool in his own way. But technology like this could elimate all those taxi driver jobs. Yeah, and you know what that means. All those guys will start taking over our programming jobs here too.
Yeah, I would have been really pissed if I had actually paid for my copy.

cum-guzzling-gutter-slut-feces-monkey-ware? If not, I want credit as new title author.
It can?! Holy Leaping Mario's man!!! I want one.
Can you imagine a beowulf cluster of those? A beowulf cluster of Donkey Kongs?

give up their immortal soul.....
oh wait...
nevermind.

Then I could read about porn.
Now I can watch porn.
Now is clearly the winner.

I have some in my freezer. They still make those.

I think the AMD runs hotter though.
