    EISA anyone?

    I admined a 486/33 (no bloody SX/DX/DX2) system, with an EISA bus. Used an Adaptec 1742 SCSI adapter on it.

    I loved that box, mainly for the case -- solid steel.

    Dude. My daughter goes to UCSD. My cost (in-state) for one year? $28K -- counting tuition, room, board, books, and fees.

    That's IN STATE. My younger daughter is considering UW. That would set me back about $38K per year.

    Brothers are great. At a previous position, when I was the IT guy, I bought them. Works out-of-the-box with Linux, too.

    I bought my personal Samsung ML-1710 several years ago for under $100. I love it.

    I didn't buy one... not because of the DRM, but for two reasons.

    1. I have no need for a console
    2. If I did have a need for a console, I don't spend any money on Sony products, period. Sony management thinks that they can bork my machine at their pleasure.

    I realize its minimal, but that's the only way I can punish Sony.

    Has anyone seen the new "Visit Florida" ads?

    They discuss the fact that potential tourists are worried about the Gulf spill, and then say something like ...

    "Florida has 835 miles of coastline. Northeast Florida has 221 miles of crystal clean beaches..."

    In other words, "Come to Florida! Only 3/4 of our coast is covered in oil!!!"
