Please also note that that "idiot" does not even know what you are referring to as "BATFE" (nor does he, after starting a quick google rally, really care, as he can drink and smoke all he want, and doesn't really need firearms to shoot holes into his neighbor.)

That "idiot" is also not able to understand your weird article numbering, but assumes that for you,

Yes, I (and many europeans nowadays) have some very strong opinions about the contemporary US. "Fascist rouge state" is one of the more friendly ones. This is mainly based on the all to similar politics excercised by your political leadership. Lets elaborate on this some more, shall we?

    Reichstagsbrand - 9/11
    Ermächtigungsgesetz -
    Patriot Act
Internement Camps (note: I speak of camps for political prisoners, not of death camps who are a different matter) - Cuba

There was that elderlish guy at a large german university where I used to work whose network was no longer working. We did the standard procedure (with 3000 machines spread over a city the size of Munich, you don't jump to the desaster area right away): Check if routers worked, pinged some machines in the building he was in, looked at the logs... to no avail: I had to go over to him (3km, in deepest winter, at -15C, with rush hour traffic jams that rendered cars basically unusable)... ... When I arrived, I ran some diagnostics on the machine, but it seemed there really was no network connected. I checked the cable box in the wall and the one on his machine. We used to deploy 10m-cables, because some genius bought them in bulk, and the PHB figured the were "cheaper" because of this bulk-buying - even if the distance between wall and machine was less than a meter.

Well, the cable was connected both to the wall, and to the computer. Unfortunately, it was clearly CUT right in the middle. When I questioned that elder superhero, he stated that he found out years ago that you could use a copper cable as an TV antenna, and he received a memo the day before that WiFi was now available in all university buildings - so he decided to cut the Cat5 to serve as a WiFi antenna....

They ask for donations. Last I checked Suse was still a version of linux, so anyone that's donated to LiVES and uses Suse should still get support. It's fair. I have the choice to use whatever version of Linux I want and if I donated money, I should get support any way.
    From Wikipedia's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donation:
Donations are transfers, or gifts, given without return consideration. This lack of return consideration means that, in common law, an agreement to make a donation is an "imperfect contract void for want of consideration." Only when the donation is actually made does it acquire legal status as a transfer or property. In civil law jurisdictions, on the contrary, donations are valid contracts, though they may require some extra formalities, such as being done in writing.
Donations are not support fees. Donations are an unsolicited display of respect and gratitude. It would be fair, but it is no obligation, and you are not entitled for support in any legal way, even less if you use a non-supported operating system distribution. Think of the implications if someone who donated would get LiVES to run on Windows, BSD, OSX or AmigaOS 3.3... there is no way proper support would be given to you, independent of the amount of money you donated.

    I tend to disagree:
    1. Grundversorgung does not mean "basic supply with news", but "basic supply", and the Rundfunkstaatsvertrag (The inner-state treaty which governs about this license) actually does mention news, entertainment and education - so the Musikantenstadl (don't ask...) is equally Grundversorgung as the Tagesschau.
    2. Therefore, german public television is far more than an emergency information system like those the Americans have.
    3. There is no Rundfunkgebühr (broadcasting fee) on Megaphones, because Megaphones are not able to recieve broadcasts. Additionally, it'd be relatively simple, because Megaphones are not recievers of audio information, but senders. Analogically, you had to tax public broadcasters, not citizens...

Assuming Hans actually is the murderer (which has to be proven before court), yes, I'd think a filesystem actually is important for more people (e.g. everyone who runs Reiser3) than a certain mother's life, whose demise only impacts a rather small set of people (family, colleages if any).

Yes, I think those who actually are productive for society itself should be handled more favourably at law than those who are more or less worthless to parasitic. Call me a nuthead for it.

What puzzles me, however, is how they can be sure of a murder without a corpse.

Matter of fact, german parliamentary tradition does not know electing someone directly into an executive position. We have never done it, and we are not doing it now. The way to get Kanzler is to first get elected to the Lower House of Parliament, and getting a majority vote for the Regierungsbildung (not sure how to translate this ... creation of government?) there.

And yes, Hitler followed this exact procedures. The majority of the German Reichstag gave him the "Auftrag zur Regierungsbildung" in a free and open election. No, elections after becoming Kanzler are not common (and they have been used only after a failed Misstrauensvotum ("Statement of mistrust by the parliament", can be invoked by the majority of the parliament as well) once in the 1980s.

Don't mix your recently failed ideas of ideal democracy with our ideas of democracy which failed long before either of us were born.

While one cannot be certain what exactly will happen, history has shown us that people usually react fairly strongly to anything that gets in the way of their freedom. And Americans have certainly proven this point.

When exactly in the last years?

There is a difference between rumours of elections being rigged versus actual evidence.

I'd say the evidence is there just nobody seems interested in picking it up. Might be because some KGB^H^H^H^H^H^H^H Federal institutions are actively persecuting people who have differing opinions?

Remember: Elections are not a sign of democracy. Hitler was democratically elected (besides, he won most of his wars and took personal responsibility after obviously loosing the last one). They are necessary, but they are not enough.
