It's really our fault for accepting the low quality by purchasing the games. I do blame production schedules that cut corners for holidays and such. The only real way to fight it is to not purchase it and send email to production companies voicing the displeasure of inadequate games. Change starts with the consumer.

OK back in the 80's films like Blade Runner predicted wild fantasy Sci-Fi for our world now. Would you really have sat and watched a 4 hour movie based on the life and times of Jim-Bob the 750# shut-in "blogger" who goes by the online name of "Sex_kitten"? Yeah we have made some advances in technology and science but emotionally and psychologically we are just as backward as our counterparts in the 80's, 70's and before. We just have more distractions, less inhibitions and about the same NIMBY attitude. It's not a failure to predict the future, it's that the future isn't all that friggin interesting. There are no evil geniuses that threaten the world with a megalomaniac's plans of mass control. There are no genetically engineered super people coming to the rescue of some impoverished or oppressed people. Half of us can't even drive to work safely or get along with others in a social atmosphere of a bar "relaxing".
I wouldn't have paid money to see a movie called Terminator about a robot that can recognize facial expressions and have a conversation.

OMG you best read the constitution again, it's freedom of religion. I am a Christian but there are many many people who are not and Jesus loved them too. If the argument is that it is not protected by the First Amendment because, "protection can be rescinded if the form of speech in question doesn't "convey a particularized message," or if the message conveyed isn't likely to be understood by the audience" Then on that same argument it does not breach the intellectual property law because of that very same reason... didn't they just invalidate their entire case?

The standards we set for equipment are supposed to be across the board. Hence the term "standard" Smart people please tell me how many bits in a byte, how many bytes in a Kb, how many Kb in a Mb... etc. etc. etc. What ever happened to "standards" and the stoic facilities that govern them? All I have to say is until we make a stand about what is and is not acceptable consider yourselves the welcome mats to world industry and marketing. This goes for all the other stuff too. Ever see that commercial where the bathroom sink is just running and all these people are all aghast about it? Well there will be no quiet hero to the rescue to turn the bloody thing off in real life. Stop being a bunch of blue haired Nancy's and form a group that does just more than types. One person is a screwball, two are a conspiracy but several thousand are a force to be reckoned with.

I am not MMORGing to drag this crap into my fantasy world. Why do people need to drag real life into fantasy relaxation? There are no ways in which to have "straight" relationships in the game unless it's role-played. So role-play the relationships... if a younger player or an insensitive player bashes you, go after the player through the abuse channel or game masters... Even as a "straight" person, if I were to see "Prince Valliant" and "Prince Charming" getting married on my server, I wouldn't really care, except to ask if they need anything tailored like their Tux's or cooked for the reception but after that what they do with each other is their own business. Same for "Snow White" and "Cinderella" doing the social interaction thing. Now for guilds that are restrictive based on real world associations, I am the Guild Leader for a Guild in WoW and it's based "primarily" on IRL friends that are all Bouncers in the various Detroit night clubs. We have other members but it was started based on location and profession.
