Yeah I know the feeling. Their OS sucks in such a weird way. It's not that it can't do things it's just that it's so unpleasant when ever you use it to do anything. That's exactly it. My wife's phone and mine are nearly identical as far a features go (bluetooth-capable, camera, contact book, etc.), but my phone is just so much less sucky to use than hers. Options are easier to find, the UI is just so much more pleasant, etc. Plus, thanks to the good folks at howardforums, I was able to tweak the firmware on mine to re-enable a bunch of the phone's features that Verizon helpfully disabled.

I lucked out and got a Motorola e815 from Verizon. The e815 uses the original Motorola UI which is so much better than the one Verizon foists on their users. My wife got a Motorola Razr at the same time, and I can't stand using her phone. Convoluted menu options, ugly fonts, ugly white text on red background theme, hard to use contacts screen, etc. Same phone manufacturer, same provider, very different user experience between the two.

Verizon for sure disables many of the bluetooth (and other) features of their phones. If you are feeling brave, you can go to howardforums.com, look up your make/model of phone and see if they have instructions as to how to enable these features. You do run the risk of bricking your phone, you most certainly will void your warranty, and Verizon will not even look at the phone if you bring it into the shop, but you can hack the phones to turn on all the features that they disable.

It means something if you travel from the US to Canada frequently. Your Greenbacks suddenly buy a whole lot less in Canada, especially with all of the "sin taxes" levied on certain goods. $40.00 CAN for a two-four of beer? $1.05 CAN per liter for gas? $10.00 CAN for a pack of smokes? Outrageous! In years past it was great, your (US) dollar would go a long way up North, not so much now. Hell, my Canadian relatives are all coming down here to buy Christmas gifts and other goods because the (CAN) dollar is just so strong compared to the Greenback.

I can just imagine the reaction that a driver would have when a totally silent bike goes whispering past them at 85 MPH. "Holy shit, where did he come from?"

One other thing that has turned me off as of late are some of the newer rule changes. Some are great, I love the tag-up offsides rule and elimination of the two-line pass foolishness, it really keeps the flow of the game going. What bothers me is that they have almost taken the defensemen out of the game. If you want to plant yourself in from of the net, you have to expect a stick in your teeth, you have to earn that spot. The refs have really just ham-strung the defense with all of these penalty calls. That ain't interference, that's just good solid defense.

We also added an empty conduit for future expansion. Bottom line, this beautiful screen that cost him over $2K gets covered in soot every time they use the fireplace and you end up needing a chiropractor after craning you neck for 3+ hours while watching a ballgame.
