There is a difference between 3D-displaying technology and 3D; and this guy doesn't seem to get that.
I totally agree with him that "if [people] see poor quality 3D it can put them off". But that only relates to 3D technology. For example, Madden on the 3DS was widely panned as headache inducing, because of the poor 3D tech implemented.
However, there is a LOT of 3D technology out there, and it will only get better. And that's why I think this guy's main point is totally wrong.
"Only add 3D where it makes a difference to the gameplay experience. It must add something. Don't just add depth for the sake of it."
What a stupid quote. 3D is a technology that was invented millions of years ago when the first squirrel grew two eyeballs. You don't just close one eye when watching an opera, and then open both of them when "it adds something".
If the technology is effective and affordable (for both the producer and consumer), then it should be used for ALL content.
My friends and I were all excited to swordfight with the Wii controller. Problem was, it didn't actually let you control the sword in 3D space, it only let you determine when to swing. Not to say that the controller couldn't do it right, but it hasn't yet. Also, I really didn't like using the Wii controller for the FPS sections of the game, although I was told that Metroid worked much better.

Sounds like your "it" is really Red Steel... A game that everyone, including fanboy websites, agrees had very bad controls.

How many people want to bet that one of the new Nintendo DS plug-ins will be an orientation detector? This would make the DS essentially an additional controller for the Revolution. Wouldn't work too good for games like sword-fighting, but it would probably be very good for games like pac'n roll or a driving game.
While I generally agree with you that Philly needs to focus its attention on basic civil services instead of this new fandangled "wireless internet", I think they are just trying _really_ hard to attract back the companies that left the city decades ago. I think the local politicians realize that Philly is in very sad shape and need to do something major to modernize.
I mean, judging by the previous posts, it sounds like everyone else thinks it's garbage.
I think it's actually kind of an interesting concept, though. What if this "cloud" were actually randomly composed of your childhood photos? Or maybe the daily scenes of life on a farm? Or still frames from a movie?
The fact that this cloud was composed of random cell phone shots makes it look seemingly... well, random. However, I think one could take this concept and actually apply some interesting things to it.

Whoah! You just figured out a way to make a better Tetris. Random blocks that can't be moved or rotated! I'd play that.
The only Wii function that it won't be able to copy is the ridiculous number of people that own it.
Are peoples' lives so pathetic that they have to spend inordinate amounts of time and effort to gawk at others'?
Hello. Welcome to the internet.
It focuses on a robot who complains about his boring and demeaning jobs.
So it's about Marvin?

Sad, but it's true, it is simply easier to remember to type "google.com" than "askjeeves.com".
How about remembering "ask.com"?
