Obviously MS had an ulterior motive in legitimizing SCO's claims by happily paying those fees. That way everyone can't call them the bad guys if SCO manages to suck the life out of Linux.
Your reply is obviously tongue-and-cheek and managed to crack me up but I think the OP was referring to his research about evaluating journals based on citations. Sounds a little like PageRank(TM)
But I think it's a little silly to accuse Google of ripping this guy off. Academic research is out there to be used, right?
That's not enough. You really should video tape everything from the point you pull the distinctive red envelope out of your mailbox to the moment you toss it in the back seat of you car and promptly forget about it.
"The reason we DON'T have orbital industry is that, as far as anyone can tell, there just isn't any point to it yet. There's nothing to DO in zero gravity that can't be done cheaper and easier here on earth."
So true. While getting a 200 lb. block of aluminum into place on a bed mill might be much easier, I cringe at the thought of coolant and chips uniformly filling the interior of my zero-g machine shop. Whatta mess.
But then again, I suppose we could use ants for keeping things under control...
Bah. Linux users are either using those abandoned machines stashed in company supply closets under the boxes of copier paper or else their buying parts and building their own. I can't imagine why anyone would buy new Dells only to strip the hard drives and install Linux. Unless you're talking laptops.
I don't recall that trailer showing any gameplay. It was more of a demonstration of the technology in development.
I wouldn't be tossing Doom 3 into the pile with Duke Nukem Forever.
MSFT's XBOX can hopefully get ROCKSTAR to consider a network option with MSFT's XBOX LIVE!. On Nintendo's Gamecube it can consider the connectivity with their portable system, GameboyAdvance.Well, if the PC's networking abilities didn't get Rockstar to consider adding multiplayer, I doubt that those consoles will.
Besides, it would require a complete rewrite from the ground up in order to add such a feature and I doubt they'd be able to maintain the feel of the game (i.e. the enormous, open city).
This has to be one of the worst over-contrived acronymns I've seen in a while. I can see a conference room of Gibson execs thumbing through stacks of computer magazines looking for snazzy words to match the neato acronymn someone came up with.

It's a good thing you hurried through it. That'll give you the chance to re-read the entire series from the beginning before the next book comes out in a couple of years.
I can't wait to see what this "big" ending is that's been talked up ever since the first book.

Shouldn't you be working on Doom 3? I mean, Christmas is right around the corner. Chop! Chop!

Hmmmm...free access to books...what a subversive concept. Boy, this Internet thing is really shaking the foundations of our society.
I guess Andrew Carnegie was the original thorn in the side of mass media.
3DSMax comes with Linux?!? COOL!
Hear, hear! (Oh, and does "badly misinformed" = informed?)

If you want to get your penis pierced do they lean way in or do they require you to hold it up near the window?
Are the sales goons at Pioneer going to be wondering why figures are so lousy in the equatorial countries?
Or do they plan on intruducing hawaiian shirts with this technology, too?
"Sorry I didn't respond to your email, Bob. It was a really nice day."
Not for radio. For Internet streaming audio.
Most radio stations these days don't have streams.
Guh? A zip code that pinpoints a specific house would eliminate such confusion. That was the previous poster's tongue-in-cheek point, I believe.

?
Is that really valid HTML?
Not that I'm excusing IE6 for the dramatic reaction to such but still...

They were Sony and Microsoft. It's not like they were lightweights in their respective industries when they spawned their consoles.
