this is neat, especially when you look at some more current work on virtual particles, and virtual particle clusters. Then when you apply time dialation and distortion to a virtual particle cluster its amazing what happens. Well, that can be 20 billion years in the blink of an eye as compared to the actual particles surrounding the virtual universe.
that depends on who you mean by "we". Amateur astronomers already predict solar events, such as when we're entering a coronal hole, when high radiation is going to hit. Mostly they predict these kind of things so they can catch auroras, but some of it is just purely scientific, as well. There's sun watch groups you can join.
this argument is probably due to the "environmentalists" wanting to lobby their idea of an environmentally clean world of the future. They need an angle to attack the general public, cause silt in the streambeds ain't doing it. BUT, alarming theories on global warming captures our attention definitely. So what if its slightly bogus, they're lobbying for a greater good. So said the Nazis though. We may want to question the validity of EVERYTHING anyone says even if it discredits the value of "the greater good"...

I was thinking the route of proposing this as use in the military was akin to using advanced technology in space. You force the trickle down technology to work, the general public will accept the product after the US MILITARY has used it or NASA ASTRONAUTS, but not after some geek in a lab claims it works wonders for protecting the body against the common cold.
One possible use maybe is for indoor growing. Knowing this "clock" we can better regulate the on/off cycles to maximize efficiency of artificial life, sprinklers, and topical fertilizer.
Now YOU too can ride on a rocket and have your penis extended while taking herbal medication to supply you with energy for days on end!!!

Yeah, that's why they through it up into space. The bulk of atmospheric abberation happens due to the lower atmosphere, not the upper 25%.
putting antibodies in food to kill off bacteria promotes that bacteria to reproduce stronger and more resistant defense. It's basically a tolerance issue. You will have to keep upping the dosage of antibodies until even an extremely large dose would be ineffective.

composting removes acidic material that might otherwise destroy plant growth, not promote it. Composting is definitely a key step if you want to use sewage as fertilizer. Of course if you had some raw minerals laying around you wouldn't have to compost them. But most of us have to get those minerals from the shit of other animals, or ourselves.
when a shuttle enters manual mode, and is being flown by the astronauts, this exterior observance could be critical in helping the shuttle maneuver down to earth safely. i.e. exterior damage is taken, all the pilot sees is a warning, wouldn't it be great if someone on earth could tell him exactly what just happened.
well, it would probably be only a few seconds of freefall. In those thin atmospheres it takes about ~2 seconds to fall 1,000 feet. Once you get to 25k you don't need oxygen anymore really, and you start falling at about 1,000 feet per 4 seconds. The best thing this guy could of done would be to get into a freefall dive not a freefall spread.
to see how many delicate ecosystems this desal plant will fuck up. I guess people don't understand the balance that is required in the oceans. Here's a link to the negatives of desal: http://duck2.oc.ntu.edu.tw/iris/apecmrc2/a32.html
pushes oxygen into the deeper spots of the lungs. The best analogy I can make is to think of them as tiny muscles instead of tiny hairs. Like the muscles in your throat, that work in concert in swallowing food, pushing chewed material into the stomach, these hairs wave in concert pushing and pulling air into and out of the lungs.
as knowing quite a few autistic people quite personally I would have to chime in and say a test that tried to pinpoint something as specific as this in a severely autistic person would be hard at best, and impossible at worst. The abstractness of this idea is what, in my opinion, would elude an autistic person.
depending on how large it is, yes. There are massive black holes that span entire universes (theoretically) and contain much more than the limit for a small atom sized black hole.
you can bypass the blood brain barrier by going alternate routes but the whole idea of the blood brain barrier is that something must be absorbed into the bloodstream to be effective in the brain. It's not an obstacle to pass by, its the route chemicals are delivered to the brain.
because then it wouldnt be big and cool looking. This way the scientists can toss it around and make geeky jokes at the expense of their silicon ball.

I would think that a mandantory pyschological analysis would be demanded when someone expresses interest in wanting to elude death. I think anyone who would want to do this without legitimate cause has major issues to work out with an experienced individual.
