testicular cancer or mutated sperm honestly. That device spends a lot of time in close proximity to my unborn children.

  4. Different than vaccines? on Apple Patent To Safeguard 911 Cellphone Calls · · Score: 1

To all the posters crying foul over Apple patenting this process, how is this different than a pharmaceutical company patenting a vaccine or other life saving drug? I understand if you have a problem with the intellectual property laws of our society, but really you are wasting your outrage on a relatively minor example of what is wrong with the system.

  5. Social security? on Congress To Restrict Social Security Number Use · · Score: 1

Does this even matter considering my generation isn't even going to be able to collect it?

Try telling that to the officer when you get a speeding ticket. "Well, I was going as fast as everyone else."

Actually, you can use that as a legal defense... It's keeping flow with the traffic, which to a certain extent you are allowed to do. If every person on the turnpike happens to be going 75 mph, you won't see a cop pull anybody over. Hell, they tailgate people doing 55 or 60.

Besides, what the RIAA is doing is more like arresting 3 people at a city wide riot. You can't charge 3 people for all of the property damage, or even for 3 percent of the damage.

  7. Bladerunner on Brain Privacy · · Score: 1

I'm no Bladerunner expert, although Harrison Ford is an intense stud, but isn't there a scene in the begining of the movie very similar to this?

    cool quote from the movie:

    We're not computers, J.F. We're physical.

  8. She didn't do very much for DoubleClick... on Former DoubleClick Exec Named Privacy Czar · · Score: 1

She joined DoubleClick in February 2000 after the Federal Trade Commission launched an investigation into complaints that the company was improperly storing and sharing private user data. DoubleClick also was embroiled in similar investigations by 12 state attorneys general and several class-action lawsuits.

Maybe they think that a magical "privacy invasion" aura will radiate off of her and help the Department of Homeland Propaganda... errr I mean Security.

  9. A spycam I'd like to see. on Smart Gun with Minicam and Biometric Access · · Score: 1

That cam would sure be a lot more entertaining to watch than some crappy office/desk mounted webcam. Just donate a set of these to your local police department and see how the pictures turn out.

  10. Tax cuts vs Progress on A Hydrogen-Based Economy · · Score: 1, Offtopic

You know, the 100 billion dollars it took to put a man on the moon really has nothing on the trillion dollar tax cuts we keep hearing about.

So, do you want another $300 in your next tax return or an efficient, non-pollutant fuel source?

  11. How does this account for snail mail? on Peer Pressure Porn Filter · · Score: 0, Insightful

I mean really, if the only reason you want to block pr0n is because you don't want your family to think you are a perv this wouldn't work at all.

Who's to stop you from picking up a couple of mags at a 7-11 on your way home from work? Who's to stop you from checking out the adult novelty shop? Or a stripbar? Or an that hottie from the other department? Or a crackwhore with HIV?

Sexual repression will just lead to real problems. If people want to get there kicks off on the net, then whats the big deal? You can't get pregnant or diseased from the net. The worst I can see is a high VISA bill or maybe, but unlikely, an online text-based affair.

This just seems like another halfassed scheme to profit off of morality freaks to me.

"He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance."

"He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power."

"For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury"

It's all there in the D.O.I ladies and gents, which I consider to be a more important peice of America than the constitution. Maybe we should just change the date on it and send it right to Washington.

  14. Battery Ignition? PVC? on Potato Bazookas · · Score: 1

Just a little thought for all you spud gun hopefuls.
