Blink and look again: $1.02 as I type. The markets appear to be slightly volatile at the moment. Maybe the submitter wanted to use a more stable currency, not that I would have chosen Stirling either!
When I finally gave in and decided to switch to Google Apps...Can't live without it.
Just hope they don't delete your account.
That is why you use google apps instead of an @gmail address. You own the address, and can always move the hosting elsewhere. And google makes it easy to export your emails, contacts etc for backup. (Not that many people do it.)
By that logic, Sweden is an Arab country. OK, I know Helsinki is officially bilingual. Having road-signs in an Indo-European language was very helpful.
Like countless other foreigners, my Amazon appstore account has a fake name, fake US address, and fake US credit-card number. Using it to get a paid app might be crossing a line, even if it worked.

I think giving up military bases could be a profitable adventure.
Got any land in Tokyo? Australia raised half a billion dollars by selling some of its Tokyo embassy land back in 1988. More recently Belgium got 420 million Euro for a piece of their embassy land. I know it isn't much compared to the US deficit, but a billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you are talking real money.
What about troops serving right now who are risking their lives so that ignorant congressman can safely speak like that?
Sorry, but what is the connection between Afghan hill tribes, or a middle-eastern despot (1 down, ten to go) and free speech in America? That makes no sense.
Why is the U.S. Secret Service doing busting into a house in Georgia? Do they suspect the Georgian secret service of colluding with the perpetrator? Or Russian Mafia moles in the Georgian police?
In other news, 100,000 Sydney homes have unlocked water taps (faucets to Yanks) on their unfenced front lawns. Shops and offices have unsecured water outlets openly visible in the car-parks and verges. Anyone passing by could help themselves to free water! Oh the horror.
Sorry, gotta ask: I've seen that "get off my lawn" so many times on slashdot, but never anywhere else - until recently I saw Clint do it in Gran Torino. Is that where the expression was popularised?
And weren't those early 80's ethernets all running on coaxial 50-ohm loops with BNC connectors? hardly something you can easily use today. No, wait it was worse: "thick ethernet" where you punched a hole in the cable to join a node on. If we are going to count non-physical standards that are that old, the list is long, including ASCII.
only electromechanical electric clocks might be in error
Ha! Back in the 80s I used an American computer (CompuColor) with an RTC that ran 20% fast, because it was designed for 60Hz power, but we have 50Hz. I'm sure it had a crystal oscillator for the 8080 CPU, but they saved a few cents by connecting the RTC to the AC transformer.
The ESA isn't part of the EU, and has non-EU members like Switzerland and Norway. France, Germany, Italy, the UK and Spain contribute the majority of the money themselves and most of the tech is designed and built in their countries.
So just the rich EU members? Maybe the more economically troubled EU countries could start their own aerospace venture. They could call it "PIGS in Space".
N950? Why not just use N9 with a bluetooth keyboard for development? A full-size one even, since you are programming at a desk. What's the point in having a whole separate model for developers? I expect this was never planned, and the N950 was just not good enough for commercial release. Or cancelled for political/commercial reasons.
Are people really demanding a built-in keyboard for development purposes? Or are programmers just the kind of people who like to type a lot on their regular phones?
In China, such an electric bike is sold for 200 Euros, but in Paris, the starting price is 2000.
There is little need for electric bikes in Paris. Both Paris and Beijing are reasonably flat, but the climate in Beijing is awful. Nobody wants to pedal when it is unbearably hot and humid just walking. Electric bikes are trendy in Beijing, but as daggy as a Segway in Paris.
In other other news, it has been discovered that 100% of remaining members of NAMBLA are moles from various government agencies, reporting on each other.
around 60>70 cents aus - now it's $1.08. ..

Not quite. Some Finns do speak a Scandinavian language.
By that logic, Sweden is an Arab country.
OK, I know Helsinki is officially bilingual. Having road-signs in an Indo-European language was very helpful.
US gov't spent billions per year in Scandinavian investments
I call b-sh-t.
Finland was (and still is) not even a part of NATO.
And more, it is not even part of Scandinavia. They speak a totally different language.

Why not just leave the shuttle there?
Skylab.
Yay for consistency in the media. NPR reports
Ah, NPR, the intellectual arm of American media that reports such gems as
to hold the banner out straight on the gravity-free moon.
Huh, is there anything they had back in 69 they could have made a flag out of that COULD survive in such an environment?
There is one thing they had in 1969 that we do not have today. They could have used asbestos cloth,
Its illegal now, but was not then.
No, The PC version is called "ladders and ladders". It is harmful to the little ones' self esteem to be sent down.
Any phone company that trusts caller id submitted by a third party network is grossly negligent to begin with.
I can confirm that this applies in Australia, to at least one network. And I do not mean a reseller.
Spoofing caller-ID will by-pass the PIN.
When you get the hang of roundabouts we'll teach you how to use these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Roundabout_(Swindon)
And when you have practised that for a while, try the French way.

Wow, that is fast! When it comes to typing on the N900, I'm all thumbs.
the coins add considerably to the thickness and weight of my wallet.
If it has coins, it is a purse, not a wallet. Except in the US, where a purse is a handbag.
NZ got rid of 5c around 2006 from memory,
Yes, but 5cNZ is only worth about 2c

What we'd end up with is a situation (like now) where 99% of the population doesn't have the time (or interest) to read the legislation
And how is that any different from the legislature?
