Yea, they can basically write anything they want into that housing contract. When they stick you on resnet, they can do whatever they want with that too.
Think of it this way. When you move into the dorm, you are signing some housing contract (that you never read) but you supposedly read it. In it probably has something about: -you can't cook in your room -you can't smoke in the room -you can't make excessively loud noises at ungodly hours -you can't walk around naked after a shower -you can't slap a wireless router into resnet.
Then resnet says: -you can't download/upload more than 2 gig/day -you can't use p2p networks -no routers.
its that easy as slapping "no routers" into the contract -Grump
Humm...Dell with their EXCELLENT home customer support seems to fail at your guideline.
1. yep, they blame the latest virus/worm causing increased call volume and waits of an eternity.
2. Yea, just gives me an excuse to think of something else to complain about- tying up the rep for even longer.
3. yep, that music, then dell's "helpful" messages on how to get rid of spyware...bla bla. And the occasional reminder that I'm important (but nobody seems to talk to me)
4. yep, i punch in my express service code, but they still ask me for my system tag...
But you must remember. End users don't care for doing data. They just want voice. Data is targeted at businesses, whose workers know nothing about money...its a business expense.
I remember hearing a story about some guy who was on social secuirty. The day his gov check was deposited into his account, a bank clerk made a mistake and deposited 5000 into the wrong account (his account).
Anyway, the guy saw the extra cash and spent it. Afterwards, the bank found out about the mistake and demanded he give them the money back.
Sadly, he spent it already and was unable to give it back to the bank.
Your right. nobody reads the email. Its done by bots and....bots.
just send an email to president@whitehouse.gov with a simple question like "What is President Bush's middle name?"
the reply: "Thank you for e-mailing President Bush. Your ideas and comments are very important to him. Because of the large volume of e-mail received, the President cannot personally respond to each message. However, the White House staff considers and reports citizen ideas and concerns...."
Nobody ever replied my question. I'm a tax paying citizen. Oh well, atleast we have equal rights...so nobody will read your email either.
If caught, make them lick your toes. Make a video of the himulaiton available for download. That should be enough to keep them from cheating.

Is Caps Lock Dead?
·
· Score: 3, Interesting
But the reason we have both swapped esc and caps lock is because caps lock is so rarely used, while esc is used alot in VI(changing modes) and chat boxes (close window)
i feel ctrl is fine the way it is (ctrl+x,c,v) But i'll give caps/ctrl a try.
No, "it is a synthetic version of the hormone exendin-4, found in the saliva of the Gila monster..."
Saying the drug is made from Gila monster spit is like saying Rogaine (hair growh thing) is made from rat urine...which it isn't. Rogaine is synthetic. The chemical its made from was originally discovered in rat urnie, however.
I'll admit. I don't know much about the MP3 MD player. I do, however, have a regular MD player.
Bought it about 5 years ago. Back then, CDr just wasn't as ubiquitous, and I thought MD would be great because I could record and re-record without having to buy a cd burner.
Today, I have a stack of MDs I take when I go hiking. Have dropped it a few times and it still works like a charm.
Yes, it should be able to block off most worms. This is because of how NAT works. If a remote machine was try connecting on a certain port, and the port is not "port fowarded", then the router will simply dump the data because it doesn't know where to foward it to.
With NAT routers being so inexpensive, I believe that everyone should have one of these. Even if it is simply 1 box connecting to the internet.
just run a microwave oven in the back, a few cordless phones, a few rouge APs hopefully that is enough noise to kill most networks...
or just make it very clear: NO WIRELESS NETWORKS. Walk around with netstumbler and a directional antenna. After a few people get antennas pointed at them, the networks will stop.
The Arabic slang for "loser" is "fashel".
-Grump...it hurts to be called "fashel" =P
Now I can talk to that muslim chick at school!
imagine this:
-I urinated on that corner last night, use other side of street.
-Lonely? looking for sex? inquire within.
-Missing dog...50 pound reward.
no, sadly i don't think 10% owns a BMW.
I'm one of the lucky ones. I own 10 BMWs...i wish.

Well, currenetly your paying a high cost for low data rates.
Something like 20/mo for 5 meg transfer, and up to 80/mo for "unlimited", where you get a max of 130ish/sec or somethign like that.
