    SCO wants a former Slashdot editor to examine if code was duplicated from Unix?

    I mean come on, my palm pilot has more power than that thing...

    But your Palm Pilot doesn't play Telengard. The first BASIC program I ever had a chance to search through and mod my character stats. Was great practice for me hex-editing my characters stats for BardsTale on the PC.

    Of course, don't forget Conan or Karateka...

    but the chip was what Cyberdyne (present-day parent of future Skynet) based their computer technology on.


    Future Skynet will never exist. Cyberdyne engineers who were savvy enough to back up their data about the T2 chip and the arm, try to resume their work but are thrown in jail in T3 for violating the DMCA. Even more cold-hearted and brutal than the liquid terminator!

    I agree. I'm almost 30 and I dated a woman who was 26. She was totally paranoid that a condom would not protect her from diseases. Never mind the fact that I _KNOW_ that I am disease free.

    She was so paranoid, she wanted STD tests on a monthly basis even though we were monogomous.

    Too much hassle from a nut. I dumped her.

    In general, I don't think anybody has managed to sue for damages due to bugs

    I think they have. Remember in 98 or 99 when grocery stores started trying to process credit card with an expiration date after 2000? I heard there were several cases of the registers crashing when the cards were run and needed a supervisor to reset them. I think it might have been NCR that got sued.

    Anybody else remember anything like this?

    OS/2 2.0 and 2.1 were my primary OS's when I was in college. The full (blue box) version ran Windows 3.x apps with no problem. Ran MS office 4.0 and many other apps with no trouble.

    The downfall started when Warp 3 came out and couldn't handle Win32API calls.

    OS/2 is still alive and well on several thousand Diebold ATMs in the US.
