I read for 2 hours a day on the train to and from work and am getting through a book every 2 - 3 days so I would say that you can easily read anything with less than 500 pages in 8 hours.
Agreed, Blueyonder just offer a good service with no messing about. Although they don't officially support Linux it appears most of the technicians use it themselves anyway and there are some good newsgroups for troubleshooting.
Who cares about the artist ? 95% of them are complete junk anyway and all the ones moaning about how downloading is depriving them of a living make more in one day than I do in a year.
I don't especially like musicians so I don't think I am being hypocritical at all, if I thought I could get away with robbing things from shops easily then I would but downloading music has an almost 0% chance of any nasty consequences so I'm quite happy to do that.
I was in Malaysia a few months ago and stayed in China Town in KL. I saw at least half a dozen different people selling ripped off CD/DVD's in a 2 minute walk in any direction from where I was staying. I was quite impressed.
I agree that this shouldn't happen and any company should have policies in place to deal with the potential dangers of allowing people access to confidential information.
My point really is that this is not a problem which is confined to India or Call Centres ( which is probably the angle the Sun is looking for since it's readers probably hate both )
For example the Royal Mail in the UK is plagued with problems whereby the postmen are engaged in wide spread theft of passports, new credits cards etc etc.
If you're just saying that it's cheaper to buy info from Indians and that is why this is a story then the best solution would be for the Indians to raise their prices !
From what I have read and seen on the TV although Indian Call Centre workers are low paid in relation to their equivalent in the West in relation to the standard of living they can enjoy from their wages they are at least the equal if not better off than their Western counterparts.
This being the case the only reason we are not reading about a worker in a Call Centre in Edinburgh selling private information is because The Sun has not been up to Edinburgh with a suitcase of cash and offered it to anyone.
I've worked in a few Call Centres in the UK and I'm sure there are a good number of people who would be happy to sell you whatever you wanted for the right price. You just might have to pay them a little more than you would pay the Indian.
So the Sun offers an unspecified number of Indian Call Centre workers vast amounts of money to provide them with some confidential information and eventually one of them does.
The point of this story is what exactly, that everyone has their price ?
It does amuse me that it's probably the same people who were sitting around at dinner parties during the 80's moaning about "Evil Thatch" and wanking themselves off about how great Labour were who are now moaning about how they have been sold down the river to an evil lying warmonger.
Fuel tax is already a much better way of taxing drivers than their new stupid scheme but they are afraid of raising it because of another backlash by truck drivers and farmers etc.
I simply do not believe that there is any chance at all a new scheme would work out cheaper for the average person, for one it's going to be extremely expensive and that will need to be covered by the revenue generated.
Also I don't really see how it would help at all, they have said elsewhere that they are not going to build anymore roads, public transport is now all privately owned so there is nothing much they can do with that and if they really wont be getting any more money then how are they going to improve anything any more than they are able to already. It makes no sense whatsoever.
I agree, I got bored of games like Monopoly and Risk years and years ago - they are just so tedious and boring so discovering all those German games was a real breathe of fresh air, they are actually genuinely exciting to play.
Not sure about the ethics of that but it would certainly help solve the travelling salesmen problems.

Fair enough they could get that info from GIS information but they could equally easily get it by getting jobs in any of the ( probably ) numerous companies which have access to this information.

The government is willing to mail benefit checks to PO boxes and is surprised that fraud occurs ?
Why would I want to use this when I can just download music for free off a real P2P network. This makes no sense at all.

I would imagine India does have laws to cover this kind of stuff, in fact I suspect that Indian law may match British law in many respects.
If that's the point then the solution they offer is no doubt for the criminals to raise their prices to fall in line with Western criminals ?

So you're saying that the real problem is that confidential information can be bought more cheaply now than it was before ?
I think you misunderstood what I wrote.
We don't know because the article doesn't mention how many people The Sun approached before they found someone willing to sell them this information.
Maybe they hit lucky first time or maybe they have been fishing for the last 3 years and have only now got a bite.

And then you end up in a left luggage locker on Mimas with a passport in the name of Emily Blenkinsop, like I'm going to be trying that again !
I agree, I got bored of games like Monopoly and Risk years and years ago - they are just so tedious and boring so discovering all those German games was a real breathe of fresh air, they are actually genuinely exciting to play.
Yes a lot of Brits do hate MT, particulary middle class media types which is why we are now stuck with Lying Labour and Tony Blair.
Get yourself a couple of kids, council house and your laughing. Certainly enough to pay for your fags and tennants super all day.
Once the kids are old enough they'll be out on the rob and will be able to finance their own drug and alcohol addictions themselves.

It depends on where they are deployed, in some situations shooting to wound is a tactically better option.

Doesn't China consider Falun Gong practioners to be terrorists ?
In which case they seem to be going about things in much the same way the US/UK are with their terrorists.
Post your topic here and we can discuss that instead. Subvert from within etc.
