A photographer for example would spend 10 times that amount on a camera like a Phase One digital back. It cheap if you are making money off this software. If you are some 14 year old in your basement well, you'll take the swashbucklers route for aquiring it.
There are also other software titles out there that cost more than the OS, why is that the scale for comparision? MS Office costs more than any OS I know of, as does Final Cut Pro or high end CAD or animation software titles.

mail. It is a hold over from when I was younger. I only got the account because MS terminated my hotmail account( thankgod looking back). I suppose I am only with Yahoo still because they work well, spam is small and it takes 2 clicks to get my mail. I have even bought things offered by Yahoo. They must of had $80 off me.
Whats Google got off me even though I use their search engine all the time? A couple of ad clicks? I even have a gmail account but hardly use it at the moment. The.mac and yahoo ones are serving me fine. (Remember you pay for.mac)
I recently registered for a Flickr account and use it. I might even upgrade after the beta. More money for Yahoo.
Google on the other hand have had very little off me yet I prefer their search and mail. Apart from the fact it picks up keywords. Yahoo's only annoying feature is that it forces me to sign in every day now to get my mail. I think every 24 hours it forgets you.
Why am I telling you this? I suppose its because I use to be a computer geek who was going down the path of linux and learning computer courses. But Yahoo isn't a geek site, google is. Yahoo have got my money, but I still favour Google because of its clean and simple design.

By all the posts here that a lot of people don't understand the GPL at all. Some people understand the GPL but cannot get their post across coherently for others to take note and they are not lawyers, then there are others who would argue the opposite is true when they understand the parents post thinking they have it sussed. Then there are people who are providing legal advice and these people are not lawyers and there are some people (including the poster) who don't know much about law!

You need a reality check, I would not of made my post if there was no need for the one button mouse. My step mother is hitting 40. She can't use a 2 button mouse, my arts teacher is hitting 50 and is only now getting his first lesson, my sister is 21 (has no interest in computers but will happily upload songs to her ipod shuffle but still needs help with tho basics, they all don't understand either, yet. Not everybody has a computer, computer users are still a minority in this world and a 1 button mouse can help them if 2 buttons is really hard which to some people it is.
I think a one button mouse is really useful and should come as standard with macs, it is a desigh philosophy they should keep to. It makes a world of difference to the people who are older and are just getting into computers.
