Net neutrality has everything to do with this. ISPs are claiming that they need the extra income from the second-tier extortion fees to be able to provide high speed access like that.
As others have noted, he loses the hand in II. You see it in the marriage scene.
I think it's worth noting that the hand that Anakin gets is a little larger than a normal sized hand, extends about 4 inches down his arm, and is silver-colored and clearly mechanical, while the arm Luke gets appears to be real.
If he thinks of nothing else, at least Lucas shows some progression of technology
Nonsense. You just have to know what you're doing. I have sites that are XHTML 1.1 strict, validated, CSS/Tableless, and still render fine in IE. Granted, they're not visually stunning, but there are only about 5-6 tricks you need to use
From another perspective, Macromedia had far better academic prices and availability. I had to fight to find Photoshop at the academic pricing, and even then it was around $300 (down from retail $650). Dreamweaver retails for $400, and you can buy it direct from them at academic price for $100. That's a damn good deal by comparison.
Maybe, but the message was far too close to the truth. I can't laugh anymore at jokes like that about so called "compassionate conservatism," that are sarcastic while at the same time being almost the exact line our government takes
The price doesn't seem realistic, but I haven't gotten anything that's clearly a bootleg. All the music I've downloaded has been far too high quality to be bootleg like that.
allofmp3.com - lets you encode music at whatever quality/format you want. Selection's a little lackluster though. Oh yeah - and the downloads are coming from Russia, so it's slow. But they only charge $0.01 per Meg, so at 192 kbps, the most a CD will cost you is abou $1.05. If they've got what you want it's a kick ass deal
Is this "new"? I know there's been a beta version of Google groups for some time - it's basically a free listserv server. So have they changed stuff since I was there a few days ago or is/. behind the times?
I hope they don't dump Tech Live. Slashdot is great for instant coverage, but they did some nice stories on Tech Live; stuff that either wasn't important enough for Slashdot or something like that. It also came on at that perfect "i should do homework but i don't want to" time.
Reply and say that your neighbors run wild and you're clear? Has anyone read the TOS? You're not allowed to let anyone off your property use your internet connection. Sounds like it would be getting you into deeper water. Possibly hotter too.
Maybe Peter Jackson will have some encouragement (not to mention financial backing) to do the Hobbit now. Given what they pulled off with Gollum, I'd like to see what Smaug would look like...that would be awesome.
Hmm...this isn't how I do it, but what about something like this:
Disclaimer: This works in theory; practically it would require a hell of a lot of resources.
The basic idea would be a relational database. You've got say the files in one table, and categories in another. The categories can have a parent, so you get something of a tree view going. Then, when you select something from a tree view, it comes up with all items from that category.
Creating this would be easy; optimizing it wouldn't be.
Wait...let me see if I've got this right.
1) Take a random group of polygons
2) Randomly change those polygons until they're more like the Mona Lisa
3) Repeat
And people are surprised that the end result is something that looks more like the Mona Lisa than when he started?

Did anybody else read the headline and wonder if there was some sort of legal action going on?

Ooh! I think I get it. Avalon is MS trying to copy Quartz (and failing), just as Aero will be MS trying to copy Aqua (and failing).
2400 on the SAT's here I come!
What? They took out the analogies? Those insensitive clods!

1. Create cheap and bad game that offends everyone
2. ???
3. Profit!

Like the guy above me said, it only applies during Shabbat. However, if the computer was on before Shabbat started, then technically you'd be fine.
:)
I'm splitting hairs too, but isn't that what being Jewish is about?
So does that mean that I'm really normal?
Or will I never be able to get my stupid program to work?

Hey - don't dis Oregon Trail! That was an awesome game!
How about this: Document summary: You may continue to use Linux without fear. I'd say that sums it up pretty well
The impression that I've always got was that a copyleft wasn't a copyright at all - it was just kind of like a copyright. Is that not the case?
