shock radio has jumped the shark. It's going out of style
I disagree entirely. If the genre truly is non-marketable or going out of style, we wouldn't see Opie and Anthony syndicated nationally. I believe that most of the shock and rage is coming from people who don't even listen to the show. These non-listeners then call up the parent companies advertisers and threaten to boycott their products. Advertisers then (IMHO) prematurely pull their advertising and the media companies pull out.
Quite frankly, I could care less if my local grocery chain advertises on a radio station who has a show that has a on air personality that talks about / supports / encourages offensive X, Illegal Y, or Immoral Z. I think that MOST people don't care either.
I say let the market decide. The advertisers pull out? your telling me that NO companies would love to have an advertising spot in that now vacant space? Truly, I believe that 95% of people just don't care, and its the squeaky wheel 5% causing all the media uproar.
Lastly, I am both shocked and proud that O&A's target audience actually has boycotted XM. These are the same "Dumb, Childish, Joe Sixpack idiot" (of which I guess, as an OnA fan, I am as well) who most would not think would care or to be organized. But here they are successfully getting their message out there. How many times do people talk of boycotting the RIAA, but nothing ever happens. At least these people put their money where their mouths are. Kudos./opinion
I'm not a physicist, but but aren't those large sections of cement there for a reason? like preventing crashes from spilling to the other side of the highway?
I'm no doctor, so I must ask... If someone who was in good shape... and I don't mean just not in bad shape, but an athlete or someone who works out constantly, would 2.25Gs be determental to ones health? Clearly you wouldn't want a 250 pound guy to weigh 2.25x more, but If someone was in peak shape to begin with, would the increased weight be bad for ones heart or other organs?
Oh, and look, i can print out a single page for 5000 dollars per hard copy. I'm sorry, but this shouldn't be legal. If she wants her content protected, it should not be placed on the public internet. (password protecting the site would be OK) Oh, and clicking on any link (according to one of the buttons) binds me to her EULA. Even, apparently, the link to read more about her insane copyright policy. I hope the the wayback machine can counter sue her out of existence. good riddance.

In ohio, parallel isn't required to get your license. And if it was, I would assume most people, myself included, would find the smallest econ car that I could, and test in that. Who in their right mind would test in a full sized conversion van?
http://linux.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=139922&c id=11715979 works for viruses too. The whole mentality that linux is immune because its linux has to go. As soon as you start switching over Joe User, you will be switching over his carelessness and his ignorance. The box says click, he will click. The box says root, he will type it in.
you say it will be their fault then, however, these are the people you are trying to convert. Its grandma who can't tell the diffrence between ebay.com and ebay.com/redir.dll/http://www.scamsite.com.
You're telling me that when joe user installs his linux version of kazaa and it pops up the message, you must install with root... enter password... linux solaris, mac, anything will be immune to the malware? I think not. Users dont read popups. If they are prompted for root... they will type it in. Ive even seen macromedia flash boxes pop up to alert you that IE has blocked their activeX script, and the user should do the following steps to install the plugin. And people do.
