All civil liberties violations concerns aside, this is pretty impressive when you think about it. I mean, American Airlines' phone system can't even understand me when I try to tell it a simple 4 digit flight number in easy-to-understand monotonic English, yet China has somehow developed a technology that can immediately detect very specific words and phrases in a language with five different tones!
Do what I did - get the exact replica of the ring used in the Lord of the Rings movies:

Pricey, but so worth it for having the exact same ring as the movies. Can't get any geekier than that!
I think 1/5th of the time wasted is a huge underestimate. At my former job (IT), I easily spent the greater part of my days idly surfing the web. I wasn't avoiding work either - I really just had nothing else to do, but if in those situations I asked my boss for some more work, he would just give me some BS busy work like organizing a file cabinet. So after a few instances of that I just stopped asking him for things to do.
My brother was amazingly able to speak sentences at 9 months, but then couldn't walk until he was nearly 2. He didn't need to! He would just sit on the floor and give commands to my mom. "Bring me that." "Take me over there."
We've all seen sci-fi movies - this can only end in the bugs killing their makers and attempting to take over the world.
Now we just need a hero to save us at the last minute!
Just this past week I received the same phishing email (fake Key Bank login) 5 days in a row. I was surprised the site was able to stay up for so long. Who does one report this type of thing to? the FBI? the Secret Service? the FCC??
There needs to be some sort of clear statement on this from the government.

No response to this Times article yet, but they're usually pretty quick.
Adywan's Star Wars Revisited is even better and more detailed in its edit than Harmy's

I'd be interested to find out the numbers of installs they did per flavor of *nix. Did one distro dominate?
