    Because they market an operating system that allows people to fashion viruses which flood my mail server on a regular basis. For which I have never received so much as an apology, let alone compensation for my time constructing new filters for each variant.

    Who is Anbody? By you quotation I wouldn't buy their ill informed tome. Their grip on geography must be regarded as tenuous and ill informed at best. Tierra del Fuego is South, Nueva Loja is around about in the middle and Prudhoe Bay is North. Mississippi is pretty much North on this evidence, or are we talking about a different Mississippi? It's South of Washington, maybe this the center of your world? A definite Topsy-turvy view you have, but an ignorance that is not not uncommon.

    You mention 'transactions', isn't MySQL still a little flakey there? Also you use the word 'trust' in regard to a RDB renowned for losing data. Curiouser and curiouser. I'm not anti MySQL it's just not the thing to use when one values ones, data as you claim to.

    Why do you feel that PostgreSQL is more difficult to administer than MySQL? To use properly perhaps, but administration? There are differences, but no aditional complexity is involved.

    This has been in the offing for sometime now, why would anyone chose MySQL over PostgreSQL if they had to pay for it? It may be faster but it does little more than can be done with a flat text file and Perl. Suicide.

    It didn't do any damage to anything apart from Unisys' reputation. Everyone who cared just used PNG, and laughed everytime Unisys was mentioned. Would you invite a chainsaw wielding a madman into your house? No, you'd point him to the nearest Microsoft developers convention. Begone Judas.
