    You either have it or you don't. My wife's an ER nurse. She "starts lines" all the time. Yet there are some nurses working with her in the ER who have many years of experience and still have difficulties starting a line. The truly amazing people are anesthesiologists and anestothists. They seem to "always" be able to start a line.

    Even if the stock goes to $1.00, the keep all the money they raised at the IPO. The only way they get "unflush" with cash, is to spend it.

    Look at the industrials, telecomms and the like.

    Usually done in conjuntion with selling debt and assuring the buyers that they will be paid ahead of the common shareholders in the event of a liquidation.

    No. It would be more akin to giving away anthrax publicly before the other hundreds of "mad scientists" did so illiciltly and covertly. As the OP pointed out, somebody can develop a plugin that does the very same thing. What's to prevent some other black hat from doing that and distributing it to the script kiddies outside the public eye?

    You could say the same thing about virtually any cracking tool out there. Your logic ultimately falls back to "security through obscurity". To us a medial analogy, this never cures the disease, it only delays the onset of symptoms.

    On IBM's web site, for instance, they state what power-saving settings they use to get the battery life specs they claim (hint, if you need the screen more than 1/2 illuminated, you're screwed).

    One man's long life is goign to be another man's power hog. It all depends on how you use the machine and how you set up the power saving features.
