  1. Re:IE won already on Branding Mozilla: Towards Mozilla 2.0 · · Score: 2, Interesting

    I strongly disagree with you.

Mozilla has replaced my browser, and the browser of all my friends (all ten of them! woo!) and relatives because of one simple fact: it's faster.

Mozilla will never die because it is not some company that lives off of profits. I believe that even if no donations are made to the MF, the applications shall continue to prosper and thrive in the open-source and practical communities.

    Plain and simple: Mozilla roxors.

    eBay.

I got my Gunvalkyrie soundtrack for a penny plus $3.00 shipping. Woo!

But I do agree, it would be awesome to see them in domestic music stores.

  3. Uh, yeah. on No Grand Theft Auto In Prison? · · Score: 1

I'm thinking the key part of this article is the fact that he played it "during a previous jail sentence."

I mean, doesn't that give you some kind of clue to what you should let inmates play?

"Yeah, Hi, I've been incarcerated before."
"Oh, okay. Here's your copy of GTA3. Have a nice day."

I can't believe my tax dollars are paying prisons to make the problem worse. I know everyone says it, but prisons should be rehabilitating them for acceptance in everyday moral society... and most certainly keeping them from GTA until they are deemed stable enough to determine right from wrong.

  4. Say it ain't so! on Nintendo, AOL Enter Into Online Agreement · · Score: 4, Informative

    Nintendo partnering with AOL?
C'mon, that's like Ghandi partnering with Satan!

How can Nintendo make such a poor decision? Don't the Japanese hear stories of how hellish AOL's connection speeds and busy signal rates are?

    I must be dreaming...

Let's hope our good ole Nintendo realizes the errors of their ways soon, and before too much money is lost!

  5. NO! This is a song about being happy... on BitTorrent Community Running For Cover? · · Score: 1

Thank you, TNN (aka spiketv). Anyways, I have to say that the legal pay-per-track option has it's pros and cons. Most of the sites I've been to only have a few labels, and those labels don't even have anything that I'm looking for. So if I even wanted to do the pay-per-track thing, I couldn't. It's honestly limited to whoever joins the program and is willing to make a little less money for a lot more satisfied customers. And why the hell should I pay $1.00 for a track encoded with a lossy codec? If I'm going to pay for inferior audio, I certainly won't pay the relative cost of one track from a 15 track CD. But whatever. I'm still proof of the concept that people buy the music they download off of a p2p netowrk... whatever digital format (lossless aside), it's inferior and still sounds better coming from my DVD/CD player than an .ogg file. And since no one distributes any .ogg that I listen to, there's another reason for me to buy the CD and rip it myself. Still gotta get a Neuros though...

  6. Arcades are evil.... on DoA Creator Says Online Is New Arcade · · Score: 2

A few weeks ago I went to an arcade for the first time in years... started playing Soul Caliber and a few other games, and before long I had blown ten bucks. I walked away from the arcade rather upset and disappointed in myself, not only losing most of the games I played but wallet now $10 lighter. Arcades are evil. I'd much rather continue paying $50 a year for my Xbox Live account than going to the arcade and going broke. Besides, the games in the arcade suck, anyways, and if you don't play a game anymore, you cant exactly trade in your spent arcade tokens for new ones, unlike an console game.

  7. Re:99c / track? on Apple to Launch Music Service? · · Score: 1
    Well, I'm not so sure.

People know that Kazaa is easy. The selection is damn good, *however* I know that there are some things that people don't have yet, and if you're impatient, then this service may be good.

The quality of a song on Kazaa is usually pretty good, and the transfers usually go by very fast if you're on broadband (and if you're on a modem, these new pay-per-song services aren't going to make any damn difference, with the exception of burning the CD).

And you CAN preview a song in Kazaa. You know, right click on download, click Preview/Play?

You, also, have to remember that everyone in this god damn country is *LAZY* and *CHEAP*. We'll pay a lot for coffee and water because we're lazy, but we won't pay for a CD because we're too cheap to do so.

I think that Kazaa is just as easy as these new pay-per-song music services, and if people realize that, the service will fail.

  8. Re:hmmm on Apple to Launch Music Service? · · Score: 1
    Yes, of course.

You will have bought the song, therefore you own a copy of it legally. I'm sure that the system would record which songs you have bought, and you would be able to download them AND have Apple burn them as well.

Or you could just download it, keep a copy on your drive, and burn the damn thing yourself, ya lazy bum.

There's really nothing I can do about it, and I know $25 for a dozen roses is a good price (on v-day), but honestly...
Those damn florists jack up their prices for freaking PLANTS for gods sake! I think I'll just start growing my own or something... use my mad geek skillz to create a magnificent hydroponics lab for roses... and put those bastards out of business...
