Firefox is a strange case, since initially the sources were free software but the binaries released by the Mozilla Foundation were not free. They were non-free for two reasons: they included one non-free module, Talkback, for which sources were not available (even to the Mozilla Foundation); and because they carried a restrictive EULA [end-user licence agreement].
I think these two problems have both been corrected, so maybe the distributed Firefox binaries are free software today.
The new services also put YouTube head to head with Hulu, competing directly for the full-length television show viewer. Hulu currently has more of this sort of content than does YouTube, but YouTube has the lionâ(TM)s share of the Web video audience. It is estimated that YouTube has 100 times the viewers that Hulu has.
It might have to done something with the fact that Hulu's "video library can only be streamed within the United States".
Some people go to great lengths to put their feet over an axe, just to see if it hurts or not.
As I said, I write little utilities and release them in Public Domain. Thoughts about disclaimers and "liabilities" never came into my mind.
Well... will have to look into it more thoroughly.

Good for you. I personally have written a lot of little utilities (web-applications and other bullshit) which I released in public domain.
I never understood the whole point of BSD, ever. If you want to share the code, so much so that whether I am not using it at all or using it to earn millions is something you don't care, then why are you licensing it?
The more grim news is at the bottom of the list. Perhaps unsurprisingly, but still another sad reminder, virtually every country on the bottom 20 is African (Bangladesh and Myanmar are the exceptions). In short, the countries most in need of this software, software that is freely available, still are least likely to have the capacity and infrastructure to download it.
To me, it means people have other things to think about that downloading a browser. Plus, we are actually looking for those who made a pledge. Heck, even I didn't make a pledge even though I live in Germany.
PS: I composed a long reply, but since Slashdot won't let me post as AC, I had to login... and then I pressed cancel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What you are saying is true, but is completely tangent to what GP was saying.
Think about what you have just said - both India and Pakistan had nuclear power since undisclosed time. Simply put, we don't know. Then what is the basis for claiming India had it first and used to treat Pakistan with contempt?
BJP is nationalistic, but in no way "war-mongering" (but that is how most of the western media likes to portray it - liberals because they don't like nationalistic parties, and rightists because BJP is against religious conversion (read Christianity).
BJP was ousted because it was too much like Congress. They came to power because Congress sucked and, as Obama says, people started looking towards religion. And BJP delivered nothing new - they did a lot of middle class, but middle class in India is very small.

India no longer treats Pakistan with contempt, as soon as both sides were 'equal' India was forced to the negotiating table over Kashmire and a few other border disputes.
What about pencil/ballpoint pen companies?
Keyboard layout, eh :)
Must be my keyboard layout messing with my grammar :(
He is sure Firefox was not free.
He is knows the problems have been corrected.
He is not sure right now because he uses lynx.
WHAT? Where did you get that bit? Anyone who can read any indic script can read it perfectly. Latin characters though...
It's not the Mega Maid that sucks, it's you.

Hey! Some people didn't know how to groan before this article!

I have read Huckberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, and also some of his essays, but this quote is new, and something quite apt for this atmosphere :)
I haven't read much of Mark Twain. Could you please elaborate?

Hmm... you are probably right.

Not trolling... seriously I am asking.
No, 75% of the Earth is covered by almost 100% water.
Thanks, I will be here all day :)
World of Public Relationscraft?
Actually, that is what I wanted to say initially but it got lost :(

Why are you talking out of your ass?
From http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/may/11/newsid_3664000/3664259.stm
India tested Nuclear bombs: May 11 and May 13, 1998
Pakistan tested Nuclear bombs: 28 May, 1998
India and Pakistan were "unequal" for 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS!
Seriously, either your news source is incredibly biased, or you are incredibly biased to make your point.
(BTW, the spelling is Kashmir.)
That bacteria is a saint!
Jawohl Lord Helmet!
I personally find it incredibly annoying. Why? Because I watch porn.
You see what I mean, don't you?
I didn't :)
I stand corrected. You cannot suggest eye-drops for a headache, and counter by saying that it has good reviews.
I agree with memory issues, and that is why I am using nightly builds since beta5. But the attitude of Firefox developers is astonishing.
Fanboyism never helps, btw. Look at wikipedia for example!
