    Agreed: The moment something gets "too big to fail" is the moment it should be forced to fail/split.
    Nothing should be that large.
    I've always felt that was the prime failing of capitalism: it's terribly at dealing with gigantic entities that eat up their market.

    For example take the engineers and scientists who developed the first atomic bomb. If they had refused to push the project forwards it might not have been developed until the war had ended, likely only a few weeks or months after the bombs were used. Hundreds of thousands of innocent lives could have been saved. Even the mere statement that those with the knowledge to build such a weapon were unwilling to do so might have made the military commanders and politicians making the decision to deploy less likely to do so.

    If, in the case of Japan, you mean their war would have ended with Soviet Occupation and a large percentage of the population shipped off to Gulags, then yes.
    Hundreds of thousands of innocent lives could have been saved. And Millions would have been lost.

    Speedy Gonzales is sort of like The Swedish Chef.
    Everyone white in the US now considers them racist characterizations of the respective countries.
    But then you meet someone from that country, and they looooove the characters.
    There's nothing like being a room full of drunken Swedes shouting "bork bork bork", or alternately, drunken Mexicans shouting "Arrrrrrriba!Arrrrrriba!"

    All it took was a school official walking out and saying "Please don't use our power".
    Bad neighborhood, then have your security guard do it.
    Can nobody use common sense anymore?
    I'm guessing the car owner did something that pissed off the cop, whether right or wrong, and the cop got back at him.

    Either they eventually figured it out, or my lack of donations caused them to forego sending any more mail.

    There are a lot of people who want that.
    It means they won't have to do anything other than wake up, go to work, eat, and shop from Amazon

    I live in California, and after a very short period of time, those signs just become ignored background noise.
    In fact, I can't even remember what one looks like, that's how much I've been trained to ignore them.
    Those sorts of warning labels are more than useless: They're actually counterproductive.

    However..... down in the US, we've been inundated for years with "lack of access = racism/". And by lack of access, I mean having to go somewhere to do it.
    Building it without access would be tantamount disenfranchisement.

    If you look at our arguments over voting requirements ( does it require an ID, etc) you'll see my point.
