The point isn't an actual level of public ownership. It's simply getting people used to depending on the state for everything, so they can be controlled-and pushing this narrative through socialist programs. This would probably take the form of fascism more than anything, with the state needing to use these large conglomerates to implement this, and the people being dependent to the point where there is no revolt.
If the state provides all healthcare, food, UBI, etc; you're not going to complain when then trot out something unpopular for fear of starving.

Indeed. A modern military with missiles, bombs, mines, guns, tanks, planes, drones, helicopters, satellites, ships, etc... would make mincemeat out of any rebellion with guns. Guns alone will get you nowhere these days. To overthrow a tyrannical government you need access to heavier weaponry and higher technology.

Your quote is like something teachers in the future will point to as the flawed thinking of governments after citing various guerrilla insurgencies.

You must be new to life. Nobody posts an unbiased opinion when forced into it. People are forced into things all the time.

For example, my company once offered us optional "e pay stubs". I liked tracking my pay with a hardcopy that I reviewed every few months for errors, and that had a copy they couldn't modify or delete. So I didn't "Opt in".
Next, my manager asks me why I'm not using it. I told him why, he walked off.
a few months later, he comes by and tells me that he will have to justify every employee not using the system. As if I'm going to put myself on his bad side, so I "Opted in".
the next company newsletter was full of praise for how quickly everyone decided to use the system.
