    I'd agree some with that. Some. It still doesn't make it right though: You should try to teach rationality to everyone, and at some point people need to take responsibility for their own actions, and face the consequences of that. Otherwise you sit around all day giving free rides to idiots ( who have no encouragement to change), and making the responsible feel like fools for being responsible.

    I will say it again.
    I have owned guns for years, and... hey, surprise, I've never killed anyone. Not even close. Not even a wounding, or a firing in the general direction thereof.
    I tire of the whole "but but but it's the intention that counts! Your device was intended to kill everyone!"

    By your justification, swords, crossbows, bows and arrows, clubs, hell, even those guys who re-enact medieval times should be banned.
    Armor was built to go to war! there's no other purpose!

    Just screw with it. I occasionally go on facebook and search for odd, disjointed things: For example, I'll LIKE adult diapera, search for childrens clothes, then look up athiest and christian groups.
    I get the weirdest ads.

    They become negative purchase agreements.

    1) How often does someone open fire in a crowded theater? I can think of once. It's along the lines of a meteor striking a crowded theater
    2) If someone DOES open fire in a crowded theater, the noise and/or rampaging crowd running out will certainly alert staff to the fact there is a problem.

    There are many things in life where we DO balance perfect safety for convenience. The key is understanding the chance of an outlier occurring.
    For example, on airplanes, would it not be much much safer if people were strapped into pods and kept there for the duration of the flight?

    This statement puzzles me. Even YEARS ago, I had to take drivers training classes for a certain period of time, have structured signed off hours of driving with an adult, pass a written test, and pass a driving test--I personally had a few friends who failed it for parallel parking too many inches from the curb. I almost failed when another driver ran a stop sign.
    Today, at least in California, I understand the regulations are stricter. These may be state requirements, though. I'm not sure.

    Owning a gun isn't dangerous at all. So I would say shooting one's mouth off on the internet is more dangerous.
    Shoooting your mouth off MIGHT lead to fights.
    Simply owning a gun doesn't.
    Now, incorrectly storing said gun, or using it to do something bad or dangerous....That is a problem.

    Get a bargain basement DVD player from China, then google up region unlocking it. You can usually make it "region free"
    Most of the super cheap devices can't be bothered to make different versions for every country, so they manufacture one and software code it.
    It usually just involves hitting a certain key sequence to get into the diagnostics.

    There aren't a hell of a lot of bookstores around anymore, especially if you live in a not huge city.
    It's kinda like saying "Good riddance Kmart, you crappy chain. We've got Walmart now!"
