There's your answer. You live only five miles from work. I personally don't know anyone who lives that close to work, but that's just my experience. So it looks like that distance will be a key factor in cost.
You know..... Some people are better with languages than others. I personally suck, while I have a friend who somehow manages to speak any language she learns with perfect pronunciation--no accent.
It may come from being around so many languages for you, but it's often an innate skill. Be glad you've got it.
That makes no sense. In your example, the parents DO have a physical health issue. They grew up in a war environment that had food shortages which caused them to be shorter. less food=short, in this case. Nobody is saying that is their fault, but it is a physical health issue.
A better example would be they were naturally short.
stores with knowledgeable staff used to exist. And then, everyone went there for knowledge, then went to a cheap store to buy it. Now there are no more stores with knowledgeable staff.
I'm willing to bet there are 80 IQ people who are far far better drivers than many of the 140s. High IQ does not equal good driver. I'll admit, if it's really low, yes. But for general, non impaired IQs, I'd believe that holds true.
I hate to break the news to you, but aid from ANYONE is given with strings attached. If you think China is building canals just because they want to help South America, they want market access and they care, you haven't learned much from history. Countries have ALWAYS been interested in violating the sovereignty of their neighbors.
So...in the bad days, the US bought their way in Latin America, and it didn't work. Today, China buys their way into Latin America and it will magically work?
I find it interesting that agreement on the idiocy of the original post is universal, an idea I wholeheartedly agree with. I also find it interesting that discussions on Slashdot concerning other amendments tend to have far more people saying "hmm, maybe that one's not so good", or "I'm good having that one go away". I'll leave it to you to decide which amendments these are.
TSA is useless, they don't even follow their own absurd rules. Twice I've managed to get to the airport, forget to remove my small pocketknife from my key-chain, put my key-chain in the x-ray machine, and still have nobody say anything.
Bah. When I was in school, it was pretty taught as us getting our ass handed to us ( I'm American). If anything, it was almost a morality play on hubris.
I'm sorry, but this discussion seems no more biased than any other mainstream source I've read. In face, I usually see far more "I hate Israel" posts around. Can you honestly tell me you aren't seeing posts slamming Israel here?
That's part of trips in interesting places: I you MUST have a book to read, you pick up whatever's available. Sure, it's not exactly what you'd pick , but think of it like food. You sometimes find nice things when you don't expect it.
That's furlong-dollars, barbarian. Sheesh.
What a dull boring life you propose.
The X are not built just for people to have fun on. Let's let them fade away.

Hmm. now you've got me interested in trying some languages again!
I TOTALLY have to go there now.
Do you have a citation on that? I'm actually quite interested in the subject.

Hmmm... a reboot of "Bednobs N' Broomsticks"....
yes, go for it.
include robots.
Nope. Brandon Routh.

"You call that a knife? Now THIS is a knife" (Pulls out toothpick)
If you arrive one hour before your flight out of SFO, your flight will leave without you.
I'd suggest 2.5, possibly 3.
Seriously, I'm not joking.

pretty much, that is.

Wow. I call dumb on that. The story involves technology being used in an odd way, possibly for propoganda, but still of interest.
