    There's your answer. You live only five miles from work.
    I personally don't know anyone who lives that close to work, but that's just my experience. So it looks like that distance will be a key factor in cost.

    You know.....
    Some people are better with languages than others.
    I personally suck, while I have a friend who somehow manages to speak any language she learns with perfect pronunciation--no accent.

    It may come from being around so many languages for you, but it's often an innate skill. Be glad you've got it.

    That makes no sense. In your example, the parents DO have a physical health issue. They grew up in a war environment that had food shortages which caused them to be shorter. less food=short, in this case. Nobody is saying that is their fault, but it is a physical health issue.

    A better example would be they were naturally short.

    And then, everyone went there for knowledge, then went to a cheap store to buy it.

    I'm willing to bet there are 80 IQ people who are far far better drivers than many of the 140s.
    High IQ does not equal good driver.
    I'll admit, if it's really low, yes.
    But for general, non impaired IQs, I'd believe that holds true.

    I hate to break the news to you, but aid from ANYONE is given with strings attached.
    If you think China is building canals just because they want to help South America, they want market access and they care, you haven't learned much from history.
    Countries have ALWAYS been interested in violating the sovereignty of their neighbors.

    I find it interesting that agreement on the idiocy of the original post is universal, an idea I wholeheartedly agree with.
    I also find it interesting that discussions on Slashdot concerning other amendments tend to have far more people saying "hmm, maybe that one's not so good", or "I'm good having that one go away".
    I'll leave it to you to decide which amendments these are.

    TSA is useless, they don't even follow their own absurd rules. Twice I've managed to get to the airport, forget to remove my small pocketknife from my key-chain, put my key-chain in the x-ray machine, and still have nobody say anything.

    I'm sorry, but this discussion seems no more biased than any other mainstream source I've read. In face, I usually see far more "I hate Israel" posts around. Can you honestly tell me you aren't seeing posts slamming Israel here?

    That's part of trips in interesting places: I you MUST have a book to read, you pick up whatever's available. Sure, it's not exactly what you'd pick , but think of it like food. You sometimes find nice things when you don't expect it.
