A reasonably good book on pf is Building Firewalls With OpenBSD and pf by Jacek Artemiak. It's an okay intro to firewalling, with lots of pf specific examples. No direct comparisons with iptables, though.
Hey! Having graduated colledge as a technical writer, much of whose work has been lost due to virii on my boxen, I think you are being unfair. I hope you loose your job, as I did.
This sounds funny, but points out a real impediment to expansion of civil space travel. I would love to spend a week on a space station at zero gee, but the prospect of eating Space Paste out of a tube doesn't thrill me.
NASA types put up with it because it's their job, but I would like full Carribean cruise amenities before shelling out $200K.
It's not just telecomm. Our vital infrastructures (electricity, phone, gas, transportation, etc.) were built with the assumption that they would not be the targets of calculated attacks.
The question is how do we harden those systems without further eroding consumers' rights?
Sadly, if your product is popular or necessary, you don't need to build customer relationships. Ask your friendly power, phone. cable, or health care provider.
Odd that Moyers chose to complain of "raging idealogies" in his little screed. He should have turned his gaze inwards, I think.
Sometimes thinking outside the box helps.

If your aim is just to gain surreptitious entry, there may be easier ways than picking the lock.
When my father died, he left some important papers in a locked drawer in his file cabinet. The key was nowhere to be found. But the drawer above it had no lock. I just removed that one.
Older Steelcase desks with a center drawer actuated locking mechanism could be opened (well, except for the center drawer itself) by just reaching behind that drawer and lifting up the lever that locked all the others.

Offtopic? C'mon, mods. CD 2, track 2.
You do deserve some credit for being the first to mention pr0n, MPAA/RIAA, Bittorrent, etc.
The dentistry part is just a bonus;-)
Sr. Rosales really has that whole FOSS vibe going, doesn't he:-(
You are correct. In fact, I will name my next platypus "Theo."
Yep. For example, my dictionary is missing dont, prob and launguage.
You know, that's the worst abuse of the word ecosystem I've ever heard.
I guess *BSD is the spotted owl here.
Which current members? Did I misread the article?
How the heck did you get UID==nick?

This is no troll. It is an interpretation that some disagree with.

I'm not sure what the answer is. I don't advocate a bunker mentality, but I also don't think ignoring vulnerabilities will make them go away.

Yes, although I suspect you would have a hard time doing it covertly.
Sensors at the exits, guards in the parking lot, etc.
There is, however, Judge Victor Marrero. He's a Clinton appointee.

What exactly does that mean? Registration? Licensing? Confiscation?
I remember writing a term paper that began this way.
I think the CD made it mainstream.
